For World AIDS Day 2024, WHO, alongside the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), together with partners and communities worldwide will hold a thought-provoking discussion about the challenges, threats, and opportunities facing the global HIV response in the context of shrinking civic space, evolving health priorities, climate change, forced displacement, health emergencies, and political shifts.
The event will start with a candlelight ceremony and include interventions from civil society organizations and people living with HIV. A marketplace area, featuring stands from partner organizations, will be open throughout the event to provide practical information and resources on equity and inclusion and how to access prevention, testing, and treatment services for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in Geneva.
