Wolfgang Poker clashes with Rampage in biggest pot of his life on NGNF

Must read

Ethan ‘Rampage’ Yau made his No Gamble, No Future debut in last week’s episode, but it wasn’t until this Wednesday night that Yau truly arrived in the fashion audiences are accustomed to. For those unaware, Rampage possess an alter ego of sorts, inspired by his online poker screen name ‘Rampunts’. When ‘Rampunts’ wrestles control of a hand away from Rampage, well, let’s just say things tend to get interesting.

This hand was no exception to the rule.

With the $200 straddle on from Jimmy D’Ambrosio, Rampage kicked off the action with a raise to $600 while holding a less-than-premium . Alexander ‘Wolfgang Poker’ Seibt called from the button with and Randy ‘3Coin’ Sadler came along from the small blind with

The dealer spread the flop and Sadler, first to act, led out for a bet of $1,600 with just king-high and some backdoor hopes. With his open-ended straight draw, Rampage made the call and Wolfgang followed suit, opting for the slow-play with his full house.

Despite the uninterested looks, both 'Rampage' and 'Wolfgang' were heavily invested in the pot.

The turn card brought in the and Sadler slowed down with a check. It was here that Brent Hanks, from the commentary booth, chimed in with a predictive note, saying, “Let’s see if Rampage does what he’s known for: a Rampunt.”

Rampunts takes control

After some consideration (perhaps the first inklings of what was to come), Rampage checked as well. Wolfgang, on the other hand, pressed his foot to the gas pedal, firing out a bet of $5,500. This is the moment where ‘Rampunts’ took control of the hand, with a check-raise to $14,000. For Wolfgang, the possibility of catching a vintage Rampage bluff was, as Jeff Platt pointed out, “the absolute dream.”

With no cause for concern about whether his hand was best or not, Wolfgang simply called the raise and the two players saw the river. With key blockers to full houses, ‘Rampunts’ committed to the execution of his plan (and chips) with an all-in on the river for Wolfgang’s remaining $22,500. After quickly checking his cards one last time, Wolfgang stuck a stack of chips over the line – confident they would return to him – and flipped over his cards.

Rampage vs. Wolfgang No Gamble, No Future

Alexander ‘Wolfgang Poker’ Seibt had an easy call on the river with top full house.

‘Rampunts’, meanwhile, fired his hand into the muck with a little more oomph than usual as his opponent hauled in $83,000, the biggest pot of the episode, and the biggest pot he’s ever won.

In fact, after the hand, after he admitted his pulse was going crazy, Wolfgang revealed that it was already the biggest pot he’d played on the turn, before the big money went in. “I don’t really play big games,” he said puffing his cheeks out.

With all of his own action, the pressure was on, but scooping the largest pot he’s ever played surely helped settle Wolfgang’s nerves.
