The under-14 sports competition for girl students of Mashobra education block schools began on Thursday at Government Senior Secondary School Janedghat near Junga. Girls from 22 senior secondary, high and middle schools of Mashobra block are participating in this three-day sports competition. The competition was inaugurated by retired Director Health and Family Welfare Department, Himachal Pradesh, Dr. N.K. Kaushik. On this occasion, he took the salute of the attractive parade presented by the girl players.
Dr Kaushik said in his address on this occasion that to keep the body healthy, every person must participate in some sport which leads to physical and intellectual development. While wishing the students and players, he urged them to play the game in a sporting spirit. He said that sports is such a field which generates a sense of competition in children which proves useful for them to achieve their life goals.
The school’s principal Dr. Sohan Ranta welcomed the chief guest and gave detailed information about this three-day long sports competition. On this occasion, the chief guest Dr. NK Kaushik and his wife, retired professor Manju Kaushik were honored by presenting them shawl, cap and memento.
On this occasion SMC head Mahesh Dutt Sharma, Kesar Singh, OP Sharma, Pankaj Tilta, sports in-charge Nandlal, assistant sports in-charge Rupendra Singh along with physical teachers from various schools, teachers of local school and school children were present.
The programme was made more special by the colourful programme presented by school children.
