Sustainable business travel consultancy TravelHorst has launched a training academy featuring 15 self-learning courses for professionals seeking to advance their knowledge of sustainable travel practices.
The training is centred around four core modules – people, planet, prosperity and performance – and is designed for travel managers, sustainability managers and suppliers that manage sustainability performance as part of their operations.
The consultancy’s founder, Horst Bayer, said the TravelHorst Academy is “designed to meet the growing demand for sustainability education in the business travel sector.”
He added: “This is the first time we are offering training of this kind, marking an exciting expansion of our educational services.”
The training is led by AI-powered avatars “designed to simulate human-like behaviours, emotions and interactions” and is available globally. There are specific modules tailored to the Indian and Spanish-speaking markets.
Participants can complete the learning at their own pace and earn certification upon completion. The individual courses range in price from $75 to $129. They include: developing a carbon-focused business travel programme, understanding sustainable business travel procurement, a guide to SAF, implementing science-based targets for business travel programmes, and the pros and cons of carbon offsetting and removal.
“Our new training programmes featuring virtual course instructors represent a significant leap forward in educational technology,” said Bayer. “By harnessing the power of advanced AI avatars, we can deliver content that is not only informative but also highly engaging and interactive.
“This innovation allows participants to learn from a curated synthesis of top minds in the field of sustainability and business travel, ensuring a rich and comprehensive educational experience.”
