Travel Influencer Aanvi Kamdar Dies In Tragic Waterfall Accident Near Mumbai
The travel influencer community is mourning the loss of Aanvi Kamdar, a 26-year-old social media star known for her vibrant travel content. According to reports, the young influencer passed away on July 16th after falling from a 300-foot gorge while filming a video at Kumbhe waterfall near Raigad, Maharashtra.
Aanvi was reportedly on a trip with seven friends when the accident occurred. While shooting a video, she slipped into a deep crevice. Local authorities, including Coast Guard, Kolad rescue team, and Maharashtra State Electricity Board staff responded quickly, but unfortunately, Aanvi’s injuries were fatal.
A rescuer told reporters how Aanvi had fallen nearly 300 feet, and was grieviously injured. Continuous rain had also made the rescue mission more perilous. They used a vertical pulley to get her out, an operation that took 6 hours. However, Kamdar died at the Managaon sub-district hospital soon after she was brought in.
Recently, travellers had to be rescued from Raigad Fort after the popular tourist site witnessed cloudburst-like rain stranding tourists amid strong currents. As a safety precaution during heavy downpour, the district collector had announced the closure of Raigad Fort for visitors till July 31. Aanvi loss is a stark reminder of how safety precautions are necessary while filming in risky environments. Local authorities in Maharashtra have urged tourists and content creators to prioritise safety and avoid venturing near dangerous spots for the sake of capturing that perfect shot.
