The world’s smallest woman and the largest woman meet and make headlines.
The British daily Daily Mail reported on the 20th that Jyoti Amge, 30, of India, who was recorded as the world’s shortest woman at 63.5 centimeters, and Lumeisa Gelgi, 27, of Turkiye, the tallest woman at 215.9 centimeters, met.
The meeting was held at the Savoy Hotel in London to mark Guinness World Records Day on the 20th. They were selected as Guinness World Records icons.
Actor Jyoti has chondroplasia, a type of dwarfism. Chondroplasia is a disease that is genetically impaired in bone growth.
Web designer Lumeisa has Weaver syndrome, which shows excessive growth and skeletal abnormalities.
In addition to excessive growth and increased bone age, Weaver syndrome is reported to be accompanied by characteristic cranial abnormalities such as wide forehead and frontal protrusion, polarized larynx, large ears, small chin, and low-located ears. The cause is not clearly known.
“It was hard to make eye contact sometimes because of the height difference, but I was really happy to see the biggest woman in the world,” Jyoti said. Jyoti also mentioned common ground with Lumeisa.
“We both get makeup, self-care, and nail care,” he said.
