Welcome to the Week in Fashion, Bazaar’s at-a-glance guide to what the industry is talking about.
Zimmermann Gets a French Residency
As of April 27, luxury Australian fashion brand Zimmermann has a new home. Through August 11, the label will hold a residency at the Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris (one of the first modern department stores in the world).
The concept pop-up space was designed with the beaches of Australia in mind. “The different rooms [are] influenced by classic summer cues and the Australian beach aesthetic with a twist,” the brand teased on Instagram. “Experience complete immersion with a soundscape of soft waves rolling in, fish gently moving through the water, shells crunching underfoot and distant birds in chorus.”
Within the residency space, shoppers will be able to peruse designs exclusive to the Le Bon location, from flowy dresses to chic sunglasses—all inspired by the summer holiday season.
HĂ´tel du Cap-Eden-Roc Embraces Tennis-core With Lacoste
It seems we’re not the only ones with tennis fever. Just this week, Lacoste teamed up with luxury spot Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc to create a tennis capsule collection, marking the first time the French sports brand has ever collaborated with a hotel partner.
The collection, available to purchase exclusively at the Hôtel du Cap boutique, celebrates the identity of the two brands and their connection to the world of French fashion and sports. The co-branded clothing includes men’s and women’s on-court attire, off-court sportswear, footwear, rackets, towels, sports bags, leather goods, and eyewear.
To celebrate the launch, an intimate event was held at the lavish hotel, where Lacoste ambassador and tennis legend Venus Williams was present.
Pharrell Unveils the “Tiffany Titan” Collection
Pharrell Williams has really been taking the fashion world by storm. In February 2023, the music producer was announced as the new men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton, a position previously held by Virgil Abloh. Now, the musician has released a new collection with Tiffany & Co., called “Tiffany Titan.”
This collection consists of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings, and it is the superstar’s first-ever collaboration with the luxury jewelry company. If you take a peek through the selections, you’ll notice that one thread connects them all: a signature spike motif, which was “inspired by the mythological Poseidon and his trident.”
This is just the latest in a string of collabs for Pharrell, who has previously teamed up with Moncler, Adidas, Uniqlo, and Chanel.
Givenchy Goes to the Beach
As if we weren’t already aching for days spent lounging by the beach, Givenchy just released its 2024 Plage collection, which reimagines the brand’s signature pieces with a seaside twist.
Inspired by founder Hubert de Givenchy’s summer estate, Le Clos Fiorentina, the Givenchy Plage line was first launched in 2023, and now it’s back, just in time for the summer season. As noted in a press release, the capsule collection “plays on key house signatures—the couturier’s passion for noble French linen, a favorite print inspired by his lemon grove, and nautical or Provençal stripes.”
With everything from beachwear and bucket hats to boxy tops and Bermuda shorts, this breezy lineup will take you straight from the city to the Riviera.
Jimmy Choo Celebrates New Eyewear Collection
Celebrities came out in droves on April 30, when Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi threw a cocktail party in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 eyewear collection.
A few of the high-profile guests included Cynthia Erivo, Ebony Riley, Lana Condor, Lori Harvey, Selma Blair, and Zizi Donohoe.
This new line of eyewear marks Jimmy Choo’s debut collection in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. The two brands signed a 10-year licensing agreement in 2023, and as noted in a press release, the collection “fuses Jimmy Choo’s confident glamour with the unique craftsmanship, innovation capabilities, and expertise of EssilorLuxottica.”
