On July 13, bareback rider Kaycee Feild joined many influential individuals in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs. Among these individuals is a very important man to Kaycee, his late father Lewis Feild who was inducted in 1992.
The six-time PRCA Bareback Riding World Champion led the 2024 class of inductees with a heartfelt speech where he credited those who got him down the road and supported his wildest dreams.
Feild is widely regarded as the greatest bareback rider thanks to owning the record for Gold Buckles, NFR Go-Round Wins Not only has Kaycee won the most World Titles he is also a $3.5 million cowboy with successes such as winning the American three times.
“I wanted to the best ever, I wanted to known as the best,” he said. “I wanted to make a statement with the bareback riding.”
Throughout his career, he created fantastic relationships with not only the other riders but also the gatemen, cameramen, and stock contractors. He felt like he was being rooted for from all angles and that pushed him to excel even more.
“Winning never was easy, winning never has been easy, winning can be hard if you make it hard, but if you truly believe that you are a winner, winning can be easy,” Feild said.
Retiring in 2023 to spend more time with the people that he loves has created a new adventure for Kaycee, one that he is excited to embark on. Nevertheless, he is honored to take his place in the Hall of Fame as the greatest bareback rider of all time.
