The NCPCR and the Association of Voluntary Action, also known as Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), led the operation against Som Distillery on Saturday, according to a statement. Many children had burns on their hands from chemical exposure, indicating unsafe and exploitative practices at the facility. The commission expressed concern over the physical and psychological impact these conditions had on the children.
- Hospitals in Delhi are seeing an increase in heatstroke cases and fatalities as a severe heatwave continues to affect the national capital, officials reported on Wednesday. At the Centre-run RML Hospital, authorities have treated 22 patients in the past two days. There have been five deaths, and 12 to 13 patients are currently on ventilator support.
