This week’s announcement from PokerStars and PokerGO that the 2024 Poker Masters, which takes place between September 10 and 19 will be presented by the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) has got poker fans excited. With the 2024 Poker Masters champion now in line to receive a PokerStars Gold Pass as well as the legendary Purple Jacket and a $25,000 PGT Passport bonus, even more is on the line than before.
How Many Events Feature in the 2024 Poker Masters?
This year’s Poker Masters festival features eight tournaments with buy-ins that range from $5,100 to $25,200. Starting on September 10, events conclude on September 19, with eight days of live-streamed final tables playing out on PokerGO throughout. Last year, players such as David ‘Chino’ Rheem, Vladas Tamasauskas and Nick Schulman all won Poker Masters events.
This year’s schedule has eight events rather than 10, with Event #1 costing $5,000 to play, Events #2 through #5 costing $10,000 to enter and Events #6 and #7 costing $15,000. The eighth and final event costs $25,000 to play and is sure to feature the best of the best as players battle for the Poker Masters points in order to climb the leaderboard.
Whoever wins the 2024 Poker Masters will take home the fabled Poker Masters Purple Jacket, which has long been one of the most sought-after prizes in the poker world. The winner will, of course, also receive the PokerStars NAPT Gold Pass worth an extra $10,000. But its not just players who could grab hold of one of those – fans can win one too.
How to Win a PokerStars NAPT Gold Pass
Anyone who is a PokerGO subscriber and who fancies playing rather than watching the 2024 PokerStars North American Poker Tour will be able to win a PokerStars NAPT Gold Pass worth $10,000. Eligible PokerGO subscribers will be entered into a draw to take place on Tuesday October 1st, with the winner heading to Las Vegas.
The Gold Pass, which is valued at $10,000, includes one entry into the NAPT Las Vegas $5,300 buy-in Main Event in November, as well as $2,900 towards hotel accommodation, and a whopping $1,800 to use as expenses during the trip. The NAPT Las Vegas Main Event will take place between November 5th and 10th at the Resorts World Las Vegas venue, which has a $3 million guaranteed prizepool.
While the Gold Pass requires an annual investment of just $99 to become a PokerGO Subscriber, PokerStars’ North American poker sites will also be awarding players in their Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania territories for example with PokerGO subscriptions. To subscribe to PokerGO, head there now and sign up.
The PokerStars NAPT will feature other big events than the Main Event, too. The $25,000-entry NAPT Las Vegas Super High Roller and $10,300 buy-in High Roller events will now feature as qualifying events towards the PGT Leaderboard Championship finale, too, which takes place at the end of the PGT season and has a $1,000,000 Freeroll prizepool with a $50,000 bonus for the player to earn the most points during the regular season.
PokerStars Launches Women’s Winter Festival
“I am so excited about this event – finalising the details truly gave me goosebumps.”
In what has also been a big week for female players, PokerStars also announced a brand-new tournament series in London, England. The inaugural Women’s Winter Festival will take place in London between November 21st and 24th, with a women’s only £100,000 guaranteed Main Event as well as plenty of other side events.
The initiative, which is spearheaded by one of the PokerStars Ambassadors, Kerryjane Craigie, was constructed after focus groups featuring female players from around the world were consulted on the project. There are three Day 1 flights in the £400 ($520) entry Main Event with each flight playing down to 20% of the field on Day 1.
“I am so excited about this event, honing in on the schedule and finalising the details truly gave me goosebumps,” said Craigie, who is not only a PokerStars Ambassador but the Director of Poker at the Hippodrome Casino, the venue for the event. “Opportunities for women to have access to more inspirational poker events is a driver to all that I do. The Women’s Only Main Event is to enable and encourage women to participate in live poker games with aspirational outcomes. The attention to every detail of this four-day festival has been amazing to be part of and I believe we have hit the mark. We have built an event around the audience – now I am hoping they will come.”
With live satellites across the United States also bringing American players to Britain to take part in the event, it could be a global leader in pushing the women’s game forward. There will also be a £40-entry live qualifier – which has no registration fee – at the Hippodrome on Thursday 21st November which features five added Main Event seats. If that wasn’t enough, then the off-the-felt perks might bring the last few ladies to the Hippodrome – a sparkling afternoon tea followed by Magic Mike Live at the Hippodrome’s in-house theatre.
