Poker in Texas: Lodge Card Club in Austin Hosting a $100k True Freeroll

The Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas, is gearing up for the True Freeroll Weekend ahead, inviting all club members to take part in a $100,000 True Freeroll.

As the name suggests, the event features a $100,000 prize pool and is free to enter, which is the club’s way of showing appreciation for its members and simultaneously giving them a chance to boost their bankrolls.

The freeroll will feature six starting flights in total, with two Day 1 flights available every day between September 19 and 21.

All Lodge Card Club Members Are Welcome

The Lodge Card Club in Austin is one of the most popular destination for all fans of poker in Texas and it is part-owned by the poker legend Doug Polk. To comply with the state laws, the club features a no-rake structure, and players pay for a membership and hourly fees instead.

This upcoming weekend, however, all members will have an opportunity to join the action completely free and battle it out for a very respectable $100,000 prize pool.

All members can get a seat in the tournament, with the registration for the first flight starting at 9 pm on September 18. After that, the registration for the next flight opens as soon as the registration window for the previous one closes.

Although the event is free to enter, there will be unlimited rebuys available for $200 a pop, available only once the player loses their entire stack.

Lodge Club True Freeroll Details

The tournament action got underway on September 19, when the first of six flights kicked off at 11:15 am local time. The second flight for the day commenced at 5:15 pm. The schedule remains the same for the flights on September 20 and 21, with one morning and one afternoon flight each day.

Tournament seats are available on a first come — first serve basis. For their free entry, players will receive 20,000 in chips, and for Day 1, blind levels are set at 15 minutes, so there won’t be too much time to sit around and wait for the premiums.

As mentioned, however, there are unlimited rebuys available for $200, so those who don’t mind investing a bit of money to try and build a stack are certainly welcome to try.

It is worth noting that $100 from each rebuy goes to the prize pool, while the other $100 will go to the Lodge Card Club staff. For this particular event, players are allowed to bag only once, so once a player makes Day 2, regardless of their stack, they can no longer enter Day 1 flights.

In terms of the payout structure, 12% of the total field will make the money, while 5% from each Day 1 flight will progress to Day 2. The Day 2 action takes place on September 22, with blind levels bumped up to 30 minutes.

There are more fun things happening at the Lodge over the next few days, including 70 $500 lucky seat giveaways, discounted memberships, free Omaha play, and, of course, plenty of action. So, if you happen to be looking to play poker in Texas, The Lodge Card Club in Austin is the place to be!
