Hey, everyone. I’m Kyle Anderson, PokerNews ambassador and Ontario resident. Here is an update on everything that’s happened in the poker world in Ontario in the last month.
Remember, ON players can legally play real money poker in Ontario, so PokerNews has come up with a list of the very best online poker sites in the Canadian province. Access real poker sites and play different games with poker players within the state.
What are the big issues and stories on everyone’s minds? Let’s get into it.
Ontario Online Poker
The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Ontario edition is winding down and its $1,000 Main Event just finished. It had 730 runners and awarded a prize pool of $693,000, well ahead of its $500,000 guarantee. The top 74 players got paid and it was “fuzztacular” claiming the bracelet and $123,896 first-place prize.
GGPoker ON is also hosting their ‘Road to Paradise’ that give players an opportunity to win their way to December’s WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas for as little as $1.50 via their Steps Process. Over 1,000 players will qualify, so you’ll definitely want to get in on it if you’re keen to make your way to paradise!
PokerStars Ontario is hosting their ONCOOP $300 buy-in, $200K GTD Main Event that concludes this Sunday. I will be streaming it on my Twitch channel, Twitch.tv/kyleandersonpoker.
Speaking of PokerStars ON, they are also hosting Path to the NAPT Las Vegas, which is in about a month. You can qualify in their five-step process for as little as 50 cents. Qualifiers are still going on and you don’t want to miss it.
Finally, in more breaking news for Ontario online poker players, the World Poker Tour (WPT) is launching CLUB WPT Gold. There’s plenty of information in our article here, but it is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2025. The WPT is back and coming in with a bang!

Casino Niagara is hosting its no-limit hold’em Fall Main Event. It is a $1,000 buy-in running October 15th-18th. The summer one was a massive success and this one is shaping up to be a big one too!

For the latter, that includes a $250 NLH tournament on October 1, a $310 Bounty NLH on October 8, and a $310 Turbo Deep Stack NLH on October 15, just to name a few. Click here for a look at their full schedule.
Kyle Anderson often streams his successes on Global Poker, goes by the screen name “KAA17” and aims to “help grow the game of poker to be fun and inclusive for everyone.” Anderson’s favorite experience so far was running deep in an online tournament, where he turned a freeroll into a $15,488 payday.
