Happy New Year, everyone. I’m Kyle Anderson, PokerNews ambassador and Ontario resident. Here is an update on everything that’s both happened and is coming up in the Ontario poker world.

ON Online Poker News
PokerStars Ontario is hosting its Winter Series, which runs January 12-19 and features $1.7 million in guarantees. That includes a $300 buy-in, $150K GTD Main Event on January 27.
Over on GGPoker WSOP Ontario is finishing up its Winter Giveaway Series on January 6th with their Ontario MILLION$ New Year’s Bounty, a $50 buy-in, $150,000 guaranteed tournament. Then on January 13th at 18:00 GET, they’re hosting the $250 buy-in, $250K GTD Winter Giveaway Grand Finale.
Global Poker is also hosting its Monster Stack series. This series begins on January 6th and concludes on January 19th. They have over 533 million Gold Coins guaranteed, as well as 1.1 million Sweep Coins. There are 42 trophies to be won on the Gold Coin side, as well as 42 trophies to be won on the Sweep Coin side, as well as high, medium, and low events.

ON Live Poker News
Casino Niagara is hosting its Winter Main Event that takes place on Tuesday, February 18th. It is a $1,000 buy-in multi-day event, so do check them out.

In the meantime, they are hosting weekly Wednesday and Friday tournaments, as well as a $550 buy-in on the last Sunday of every month.
Likewise, Pickering Casino Resort is hosting poker tournaments every Tuesday and Wednesday. They have different style tournaments ranging from turbos, deep stacks, bounties, and even on some Tuesdays they’re hosting a tournament at 12:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Do check them out in our Ontario live poker tournament schedule below.
We had an Ontario poker player have great success in the WSOP Super Main Event. Bobby Winger (lead image) from Stowville, Ontario turned a $150 satellite entry into an $86,100 cash after finishing 114th in the WSOP Super Main Event. He even shared some of his adventures in a vlog:

Kyle Anderson often streams his successes on Global Poker, goes by the screen name “KAA17” and aims to “help grow the game of poker to be fun and inclusive for everyone.” Anderson’s favorite experience so far was running deep in an online tournament, where he turned a freeroll into a $15,488 payday.
