On Dec. 18, New Martinsville Rotary Club President Dan Mason opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. He reported on the status of the club going into the New Year.
John Mensore Jr. presented a report on an upcoming film to be presented at Cinema 5 in January. The film is titled “HAZZARD.” It was filmed and directed by Eddy Mensore. Eddy graduated in 1994 from Magnolia and went on to have a successful career in film production. His last film titled, “Nine” received worldwide showing and acclaim for its hard-hitting content about an accident in a mine. This film also has a hard-hitting subject, the drug problems in Appalachia.
President Mason welcomed the two students who attended last month’s meeting to learn about the mission and direction of the Rotary organization. They were present with certificates of their achievements.
