The auction, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia at the end of November, promises a refreshed format following significant changes and an extensive retention period.
The IPL authorities unveiled the names of 574 players shortlisted for the auction on 15 November. Among them, 366 are Indian cricketers, while 208 are from overseas, including three from associate nations. The list features 318 Indian and 12 foreign players who are yet to debut in international cricket. Franchises will have the opportunity to purchase up to 204 Indian and 70 overseas players during the auction.
Bangladeshi stars in focus
Mustafizur Rahman, who has been a key figure in the IPL and has frequently donned the Purple Cap in previous seasons, enters the auction with the highest base price among Bangladeshi players at ₹2 crore. Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Taskin Ahmed have each been listed with a base price of ₹1 crore.
Litton Das, along with Rishad Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana, has a base price of ₹75 lakh. These players represent a mix of experienced campaigners and promising newcomers who will aim to secure their spots in the IPL.
