Mary Lou Woodfield Baker

Must read

Mary Lou Woodfield Baker, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 6, 2024. She was born on August 12, 1939, in Ogden, where she spent most of her life. Mary Lou was the fifth child of Ray and Vera Woodfield and their only daughter. She loved North Ogden and had many fond memories growing up there.

On August 2, 1958, she married Larry Baker, and they were later sealed in the Ogden Temple on March 4, 1978. After retiring from the Weber School District, she and Larry divided their time between North Ogden and St. George. In 2018, they made St. George their permanent residence. Together, they enjoyed spending time with their family going on outdoor adventures such as camping, snowmobiling in the mountains, and boating on Lake Powell. Mary Lou loved hiking, golfing, soaking up the sunshine, and going to lunch with her friends, but her favorite pastime was grabbing a Diet Coke and going for rides in the little car with the love of her life.

As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mary Lou held various positions and found joy in serving others. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers and was passionate about family history.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Larry, and their five children: Bart (Sue), Troy (Cheryle), Tracie Call (Scott), Kent (Nanette), and Holly Stout, along with 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Norm, Arlo, Keith, and Leon.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, where family and friends may gather from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm prior to the services. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
