Mario Mosbock Wins Triton Poker Jeju $50,000 Event For $1.8 Million

Must read

Mario Mosbock took down the $50,000 buy-in seven max event at the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju festival to become just the 11th player in the world to have earned three or more titles on the high-stakes tour.

The Austrian poker pro and CoinPoker ambassador overcame a massive turnout of 215 entries, earning $1,836,570 along with his latest trident trophy. This was the third-largest score of the former soccer player’s career. It grew his lifetime tournament earnings to nearly $17.7 million.

This win came less than a week after Mosbock had finished runner-up in the second event of this series, a $20,000 buy-in eight-max affair. He navigated his way through a field of 348 entries in that affair, earning $856,000 and 1,200 Card Player Player of the Year points as the runner-up. With the 1,5330 points from this latest win, Mosbock now has 2,730 points, which is good for second place in the POY standings presented by Global Poker.

The unofficial final table of eight began with Dylan Linde in the lead and Mosbock in third chip position. World Poker Tour champion Matas Cimbolas got the last of his stack in with A-10 leading the 10-7 suited of Mosbock, but the board brought a ten to give him the lead on the flop, which held through the river. The Lithuanian earned $276,000 for his eighth-place showing.

Poker Triple Crown winner Michael Watson then hit the rail in seventh place ($377,000) when his K-10 lost a preflop race against the pocket eights of all-time money leader Bryn Kenney.

American rising high-roller star Brandon Wilson was the next to fall, with his A-5 running into A-J for Spain’s Juan Pardo. Both players paired their side cards on the flop, but Wilson found no further help on the turn or river and was knocked out in sixth place ($512,000). This was already the sixth final-table of 2025 for Wilson, with two titles won along the way. As a result, he has climbed to sixth in the POY standings.

Start-of-day chip leader Dylan Linde’s run ended in fifth place. The WPT champion and two-time bracelet winner three-bet from the cutoff over the hijack open of Kenney with AClub SuitKHeart Suit. Kenney four-bet jammed with QClub SuitJClub Suit and Linde called. Kenney flopped a pair of queens and a flush draw to take a big equity lead in the hand. Linde added outs to a straight on the turn, but the river was a brick to see him sent packing with $676,000. This was the second-largest payday yet for the accomplished American pro.

Two-time Triton champion Steve O’Dwyer was the next player to run into the Kenney buzzsaw. He got the last of his 14-blind stack in with KHeart Suit10Heart Suit against Kenney’s ADiamond SuitJDiamond Suit. The turn gave Kenney top pair, top kicker, but also saw O’Dwyer pick up a gutshot straight draw. The river was a blank, which meant Kenney’s surge continued while O’Dwyer headed to the payout desk to collect $854,000. The score grew his career earnings total to more than $48.3 million.

Pardo was down to just a handful of big blinds by the time his last hand was dealt. He called Mosbock’s small-blind shove with 9Club Suit8Heart Suit and was in decent shape against the Austrian’s QSpade Suit3Heart Suit. Both players flopped a pair with their larger card. The turn and river brought running sixes to give both players two pair, but Mosbock’s queens up were best. Pardo walked away with $1,055,000, bringing his lifetime haul on the circuit to over $14.6 million.

Kenney entered heads-up play with 25,750,000 to Mosbock’s 17,250,000. The two soon hashed out a deal to redistribute the remaining prize money a bit. Kenney locked up $1,897,430, while Mosbock was ensured of $1,766,570. The two contenders set aside $70,000 and the title to play for.

Just two hands after play resumed, Mosbock won a huge pot with pocket aces that saw him overtake the lead. He raised to 2,000,000 (4x the big blind) with ASpade SuitADiamond Suit after Kenney limped with 6Club Suit5Spade Suit from the button. The flop came down QClub Suit7Spade Suit6Diamond Suit and Mosbock bet 1,500,000 into the pot of 6,000,000 and Kenney called. The 9Spade Suit on the turn prompted checks from both players and the AHeart Suit completed the board. Mosbock bet 7,500,000 on the end with his set and Kenney made the hero call with bottom pair.

Kenney lost another big one when he picked up a flush draw against the flopped trip jacks of Mosbock and then hero-called with king high after missing. Kenney was left with 10 big blinds after that, and was soon all-in with 9Diamond Suit8Club Suit. Mosbock had picked up another monster preflop holding in QSpade SuitQDiamond Suit. He snap-called Kenney’s shove and the board came down KHeart Suit10Heart Suit10Diamond Suit6Diamond SuitJSpade Suit and Kenney was eliminated in second place.

The $1,897,430 he earned thanks to the heads-up deal brought his career earnings to more than $75.9 million, which gives him a $6.5 million lead over second-ranked Justin Bonomo on the career tournament earnings leaderboard.

This was not the first time Kenney has earned the top payout in a huge event despite ultimately finishing second. He locked up the largest tournament score in poker history via a deal in the 2019 Triton Million Charity Invitational, securing $20,606,421 as the chip leader when the agreement was struck. Aaron Zang went on to close out the victory in that event, securing $16,810,979 and the trophy.

Mosbock has been releasing some behind-the-scenes videos from Triton stops recently. Check out one of his latest episodes that takes a look at a huge score made by one of his poker students below.
