A man has been rushed to hospital after allegedly being found with stab wounds at a Gold Coast shopping complex.
Emergency services were called to Australia Fair Shopping Centre on Marine Parade in Southport about 12.20pm following reports a man had a wound to his chest.
Police say a 42-year-old man was found inside the toilets at the centre.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital and police say he’s now in a stable condition.
The centre was packed with shoppers at the time, as well as visitors attending the Gold Coast show across the road at the Broadwater Parklands.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson says there is no threat to the public.
A spokeswoman for Australia Fair told the ABC the man had not been stabbed at the centre.
Two crime scenes have been established, one at the shopping centre and a second at an address in Welch Street, Southport.
An investigation is ongoing.
