Malaysia’s Tuck Wai Foo outlasted a massive field of 348 entries in the $20,000 no-limit hold’em eight max event at the 2025 Triton Jeju festival, $1,350,000 as the champion. Prior to this triumph, Foo had yet to record a six-figure tournament score, let alone seven-figure victory.
Foo now has two titles to his name, having previously taken down a side event at last year’s Malaysia Poker Dream VIII festival for $92,427. That 15,000 Malaysian ringgit event (~$3,100 USD) had 136 entrants.
With this win, Foo now has more than $1.5 million in lifetime earnings to his name.
He also earned 1,440 Card Player Player of the Year points as the champion, enough to move him into 18th place in the 2025 POY standings presented by Global Poker.
The sizable turnout for this event built a prize pool of $6,960,000, with the top 55 finishers earning a share of that haul. The final 11 all walked away with at least six-figure payouts, including bracelet winner Ben Heath (11th – $110,000). Other notables who ran deep but fell short of the final table included bracelet winner Roman Hrabec (17th), World Poker Tour champion Matas Cimbolas (15th), and bracelet winner Ethan ‘Rampage’ Yau (14th).
The first knockouts at the official final table came via a three-way all-in, with Calvin Lee’s A4
squaring off against the A

of Jon Ander Vallinas and the 7
7
of Igor Yaroshevskyy. The board came down 8

to give Yaroshevskyy quads and the double elimination. Lee earned $164,000 for his eighth-place showing, while Vallinas secured $227,000.

Andrei Kotelnikov (6th – $305,000) also lost his last few blinds to Yaroshevskyy, who was in the middle of the pack after his knockout spree. Ren Lin soon followed, with his A-Q unable to hold against the A-4 of Yaroshevskyy, who had open shoved from the small blind. Lin called and was ahead until the board brought a four to turn the tables. Lin was awarded $396,000 as the fifth-place finisher, growing his career earnings to more than $15.5 million in the process.
CoinPoker ambassador Mario Mosbock lost a huge all-in with A8
against the A
4
of four-time bracelet winner Michael Gathy early in four-handed play to be left with a single big blind.
Mosbock then mounted a furious comeback, with multiple double-ups leading to him overtaking the lead again ahead of the next elimination. As fate would have it, Gathy was the player who next hit the rail. He ran J-9 into the A-7 suited of Mosbock. A double-paired board saw ace high play to earn Mosbock the pot. Gathy settled for $501,000 as the fourth-place finisher. The Belgian now has nearly $5.6 million in lifetime cashes under his belt.
Mosbock’s resurgence continued thanks to his KK
besting the J
10
of Yaroshevskyy. Neither player connected with the paired runout and Yaroshevskyy was eliminated in third place ($619,000). The two-time Triton winner from Ukraine now has more than $11.2 million in career cashes.
Heads-up play began with Mosbock holding just over a 2:1 chip lead over Foo. Q-7 beat A-K to see that gap narrowed considerably. Then, a successful bluff for Foo helped propel him into the outright lead. Mosbock battled his way back in front, though, ahead of the key all-in of the match. He shoved with 44
from the button and Foo called off his last 13 big blinds with K
2
. The board came down A

J

and Foo made the nut flush to double into a roughly 6:1 lead.
The final hand saw Mosbock get all-in with K5
leading the 9

of Foo. Mosbock stayed ahead through the A
10
10
flop and the 3
turn, but the 9
on the end sent the pot and the title to Foo.
Mosbock earned $856,000 as the runner-up. The Austrian poker pro fell just short of his third Triton title, but grew his career earnings to nearly $15.9 million.
