Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora’s Father Commits Suicide: Police Confirms – Exclusive
Anil Arora, the father of renowned Bollywood actress Malaika Arora, died by suicide on Wednesday, September 11, DSP Raj Roshan confirmed to Zoom. After the news of Anil Arora’s demise broke, Zoom reached out to Mumbai police to confirm the same.
Speaking to us, DSP Raj Roshan said, “Yes it is true. Prima facie it is suicide, our team is at the spot investigating for further details. Mr Arora is no more.”
While the investigation is ongoing, Zoom has learned that Anil Arora jumped from the third floor of his Mumbai residence. Sources also tell us that he was battling depression. Besides, he had been unwell for almost a year. Last year in July, Anil Arora was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai due to unknown health issues.
Minutes after the news broke out, Malaika and Amrita’s close friend Vikram Phadnis arrived at the spot to offer his condolences. Malaika’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan also reached the family residence to be there with the Aroras.
Anil Arora was earlier married to Joyce Polycrap. The couple parted ways years ago but continued to co-parent their daughters Malaika and Amrita. They were residing in the same flat and were often spotted together at family get-togethers and events.
