London travel news LIVE: Casualty on track causes Overground suspension as Elizabeth Line hit by severe delays

A stretch of the Overground has no service on Tuesday as emergency services deal with a casualty on the track, while a number of Tube lines are also part-suspended.

The London Overground is not running between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction as emergency services respond, while there is no service between Euston and Watford Junction due to planned engineering work.

Separately, the Elizabeth Line has severe delays between Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading because of a track fault at Southall.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Another signal failure has knocked out the Jubilee Line between Neasden and Stanmore with severe delays on the rest of the line, while commuters are also battling with the signal failure’s impact on the Metropolitan Line, which has no service between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate.

Avoid Jubilee Line, commuters told

Commuters are being told to avoid the Jubilee Line after a signal failure caused severe delays.

There is no service between Neasden and Stanmore due to a signal failure at Wembley Park.

There are also severe delays on the rest of the line.

TfL has told passengers in a message: “Avoid the line where possible.”

Heathrow trains hit by Elizabeth Line track failure

Commuters are being warned of disruption on the Elizabeth Line until the end of the day due to track failure in west London.

Trains running between Reading / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

This is causing delays on the Elizabeth Line.

Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express services are also disrupted.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Overground and Southern services affected as police respond to track casualty

The emergency services are responding to a casualty on the track between Peckham Rye and Surrey Quays / London Bridge.

Whilst they do their work, all lines are blocked.

It means on the Overground, trains will not run between Clapham Junction and Surrey Quays.

Southern Rail services are currently unable to run on the line via South Bermondsey, meaning London Bridge to East Croydon or Beckenham Junction services will be cancelled until further notice.

Disruption is expected until 12noon.
