Hello A-J readers!
Lifted Trucks and Llano Estacado were among this week’s business headlines, along with the monthly roundup. Here’s a look into what happened.
One of the most notable wineries in Lubbock is under new ownership by an investment firm. The new owners plan to replace the former Mano Negra Brewing Co.’s spot in Cactus Alley with a Llano tasting room, along with expanding into Fredericksburg.
“I am excited to share our wines with more wine enthusiasts across Texas,” said Jason Centanni, winemaker. “Working with new ownership that appreciates the historical significance of Llano and believes in our vision is truly inspiring. It’s an honor to be part of this legacy.”
Lifted Trucks, an Arizona-based dealership, announced the grand opening of its fifth Texas location, this time at 4622 Woodrow Road. It started offering lifted vehicles and lift kits on Saturday.
“Our expansion to Lubbock isn’t just about growing our footprint,” said James Pillor, Co-Owner of Lifted Trucks. “It’s about bringing the Lifted Trucks experience to a new community of truck enthusiasts who value quality, customization, and trust.”
An industry publication also revealed that the Toot’n Totum Lubbock expansion will continue, with six more estimated to open between 2025-2026. Sub-Zero Bites & Sips, 3334 66th St., closed on Monday, while Complex Community Federal Credit Union, 8603 University Ave., opened on Thursday.
With the new month, we have the monthly roundup for January. There were at least 18 announcements, eight of those being openings, six closings and four confirmed upcoming businesses. Some of the highlights on the list include the openings of Dave’s Hot Chicken and Golden Chick, the closing of Sprinkles Cupcakes and Llano Estacado’s new owners’ plan for the winery.
While nothing is completely set in stone for next week’s content, the new month is expected to see plenty of interesting things happen.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
