Voters in Margaret River have a chance to quiz sitting South West Labor politicians at an event at Settlers Tavern this afternoon.
From 2pm on Friday, Agriculture Minister Jackie Jarvis and Warren-Blackwood MLA Jane Kelsbie will appear at a Margaret River Business Network event.
Over drinks, the two MPs based in the region are slated to be available for informal conversations as well as networking for the business community.
MRBN chief executive Annie McFie said the Labor appearance was about information, not promotion.
“This invitation is not a political endorsement by MRBN, but an opportunity to engage with party representatives to better understand their policies and to provide valuable feedback from our membership,” she said.
“The MRBN will be offering all candidates the opportunity to engage with our members.”
Electoral pitches have already started ahead of the State election scheduled for March next year.
Debate is swirling around the region’s role in tourism promotion, along with cost of living and housing pressures.
Local schools and the Margaret River Hospital have also emerged as key bones of contention.
