Registering for WSOP Online as an International Player

International players can register and play at WSOP.com using their passport number instead of the Social Security Number (SSN).

The first and most important thing to understand is that WSOP.com accepts international players, so you don’t need any tricks or workarounds. The only condition for you to be able to play WSOP online bracelet events is to be physically present in Nevada while playing.

You can download the WSOP NV app by clicking the link below and install it onto your device from anywhere. Geo-location restrictions apply only to participating in the games, so you can do some preparatory work ahead of time and have everything set up for when you arrive in Las Vegas.

After downloading the software, you’ll need to create your player’s account. The procedure is similar for US and non-US residents, with a couple of differences. Just follow these simple steps during the registration process, and you should have no problems:

  1. Start the software/app
  2. Click on the ‘Register’ button
  3. Fill in your personal details (name, surname, DOB)
  4. Select your country from the dropdown menu
  5. In the SSN field, enter your passport number

The biggest point of confusion for most international players is the Social Security Number (SSN), as this is unique to US residents. You should fill in this field with your passport number information instead, and you’ll be almost good to go.

Verifying Your WSOP.com Account

There is one more step before you can start playing at WSOP Nevada. You’ll need to verify your account by uploading scans or images of your passport and proof of address. For the latter, you can use:

  • A recent utility bill showing your full address
  • A recent bank statement with address details

WSOP.com requires these documents to be not older than three months, and you’ll absolutely need to provide them to activate your account, so make sure to have them handy. You can upload the scans through the operator’s secure system, and you’ll receive an email once the verification process is complete.

Join WSOP Online Bracelet Events

As soon as your account is verified and activated, you’ll be able to join real money games at WSOP.com, including all online bracelet events. WSOP.com accepts a variety of deposit methods, including Visa and MasterCard, so you should have no problems funding your account.

To claim your WSOP winnings, you’ll need to present your passport and proof of address. Prizes exceeding $5,000 are subject to taxation, so you’ll also need to provide your Tax Identification Number if you’re a resident of one of the Treaty Countries.

Players not providing their TIN or residing in Non-Treaty Countries will have 30% of their winnings withheld as tax on prizes exceeding $5,000, so keep this in mind and have all your relevant info handy prior to requesting a cashout.

That’s all you need to know about playing WSOP online events as an international player. As long as you follow these simple steps and have the required documents to verify your account, you’ll be able to join the online action and have a few extra shots at the bracelets while spending time in Las Vegas this summer.
