Meeting held with hotel businessmen at Maclodganj
Dharamshala, 26 August. Cabinet Rank RS Bali, President of Tourism Corporation, said that new infrastructure will be ensured to promote holistic tourism in the state to increase tourists’ revenue and provide self-employment opportunities in tourism.
Chairman of Tourism Corporation RS Bali, presiding a meeting held with office bearers of the Hotel Association in Maclodganj late Sunday night said the efforts of the current state government has increased significantly in the number of tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh and this year July, 1.13 million tourists have come to visit the state by 2024 He said 11 projects will be launched at a cost of Rs 696.47 crore to boost tourism sector in the state. Tenders have been invited for all these 11 projects. The main objective of these projects is to promote tourist arrival in the state, which aims to promote tourists in the state.
He said tourism is the key area of the state’s economy, which provides financial enforcement to thousands of families directly or indirectly. So he said convention center is being built at a cost of Rs 161.91 crore in Dharamshala, beautification work in Palampur and Nagarota Bagwan will be done at a cost of Rs 95.50 crore, Rs 91.42 crore will be spent on construction in wellness center in Nadaun. 65.32 crore rupees will be spent for the convenience of tourists in Baba Balaknath Ji Deotsiddha of Hamirpur district. Development of rafting complex at the cost of Rs 64 crore in Nadaun, construction of wellness center at the cost of Rs 58.37 crore in Banuti of Shimla district, wellness center at the cost of Rs 45.25 crore in Manali, ice skating rink and roller at the cost of Rs 39.51 crore in Dharamshala Construction of skating rink, development of ice skating rink and roller skating rink at a cost of Rs 34.85 crore in Shimla, development of wellness center at a cost of Rs 27.76 crore in Kullu and Rs 11.57 crore will be spent on the restoration of Naggar Castle in Kullu district. He said the Pong Dam will be developed as an international level ‘Birdz Paradise’ and it will also become a national center of excellence in view of water sports. He said the Kangra airport is being expanded, will encourage tourists to the region. He said the state government has declared Kangra district the tourism capital of the state and the necessary tourism infrastructure is being constructed to convenience the tourists coming here.
