The WSOP 2024 Main Event took place at the Horseshoe and Paris Casino, Las Vegas between July 3 to 17, 2024.
The World Series of Poker and GGPoker once again teamed up to make playing in the WSOP Main Event a reality. Daily satellites ran in Nevada, Michigan, New Jersey market giving away Main Event tickets. There were high hopes attached the Main Event, hoping to break records set at the WSOP 2023 and it did just that.
The WSOP Main Event 2024 ended up attracting over 10,000 unique players. It had 10,043 entries and created a massive $94,041,600 prize pool — making it by far the richest tournament in poker history.

What is the WSOP 2024 Main Event?
The World Series of Poker Main Event takes place every year, closing out the WSOP series that takes place in Las Vegas each summer. In 2024 the Main Event took place between July 3 to July 17. It had a buy-in of $10,000 and it attracts players from all over the world for their chance at WSOP glory.

As in previous editions, there are four starting flights to the 2024 Main Event, before it merges into two separate Day 2s before all players combine for Days 3 to 7. Players play down to a final table that will determine the winner.

How to Qualify for WSOP Main Event in the US: WSOP.com Online Satellites
Those playing online poker for real money in the US could try their hand at winning a WSOP Main Event seat via the WSOP online platform currently available in Michigan, New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania,.
The simplest way to try and qualify was via WSOP Main Event satellites that are on offer for as little as $1.
For players from New Jersey and Nevada there was one satellite each on Saturdays and Sunday, giving away one Main Event seat. For players in Michigan and PA, there’s was a single satellite every Sunday, again with a Main Event seat up for grabs.
The NV/NJ satellites were each weekend:

It is important to note that winners are given $10,000 worth of chips that can be used to buy into any WSOP events, so you do not necessarily have to play the Main if you win — you can also use the chips to enter a few smaller events.
One downside of these satellites is that they only include the buy-in. You will still need to take care of travel and accommodations. It probably will not be too much of a hassle once you know you get to play on the big stage, but it is still something to keep in mind.
Daily and All-In Satellites for Players in MI, NJ, NV
Four daily direct satellites ran on the WSOP Online shared liquidity platform between Nevada, New Jersey and Michigan.
The satellites guaranteed one seat to the WSOP Main Event with buy-ins starting at $215. There were feeder satellites running to the $215 buy-in direct satellite, so players could qualify for even less. They ran three times a day each with a buy-in of $20. They run at 15:00 PT, 15:35 PT and 16:25 PT, daily.

How to Qualify for the WSOP Main Event in the UK, Canada and Rest of World: GGPoker Online Satellites
Players hailing from the UK, Canada (except Ontario), and many more countries worldwide had numerous opportunities to win a Main Event seat on GGPoker via their Road to Vegas online qualifying pathway.
Players could enter $1 step-satellites or via freeroll qualifiers in the hopes of winning a WSOP 2024 Main Event package worth $12,000, covering tournament entry, travel, and accommodations.

Players in the Canadian province of Ontario also had a chance of qualifying for WSOP Main Event seats online. Similar to the previous year, any player who qualifies through GGPoker/ClubGG and ends up winning the Main Event will receive an additional prize — a $1,000,000 million bonus on top of the first-place prize.
However, to be eligible for this offer, a qualifying player must prominently display a GGPoker/ClubGG patch. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from tracking progress and potential bonus entitlement, according to the operator’s guidelines.
