Youth Services and Sports Minister Yadvinder Goma Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania in a joint statement issued here today lambasted the Statement of Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur in which he has blamed the present Government of depriving the youth of the State of employment opportunities.
They said that the Government has created 31000 jobs in about 20 month of its rule. The government has already declared the results of Post code 817, 999 and 969 and of late the results for 88 posts of post code 903, PC 992, PC 982, PC 994 and PC 997 have also been declared through the Rajya Chayan Aayog doing justice to the youth whose results were in limbo due to corruption in the BJP regime in the then Staff Selection Commission, which was a hub of corruption selling jobs.
Several significant measures have been implemented to enhance the quality of education. Among these, 7,000 teaching positions have been sanctioned, with the recruitment process already in progress. Specifically, 2,800 posts in the Elementary Education Department are being filled in phases, with 1,700 teachers already receiving their appointment letters.
In the education department 2163 new appointments of different categories of teachers have been made and 1348 have been promoted. Additionally, the appointment of 700 lecturers is nearing completion, and these lecturers will receive their appointment letters soon. Moreover, the government has already appointed 95 college principals and 483 assistant professors.
We have introduced schemes like Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgaar Start-up Yojana-2023. This scheme was focused on promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth of Himachal Pradesh, providing substantial support through incentives, concessions and subsidies.
It was equally amazing how some opposition leaders seem more interested in storytelling than in actual governance. With the government investing Rs. 13 crore to support 114 youth wherein 91 have already applied for subsidies to purchase e-vehicles, the Yojana was fast treading to achieve its motive. Instead of celebrating the success, the opposition was busy in witch-hunting.
Apart from this in the recent Cabinet approval was given to engage 2,061 Van Mitras in the Forest Department.
Sh. Pathania and Yadvinder Goma said that the economy of the state was at its lowest today because of the wrong policies adopted by the previous BJP government. Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur adopted politics of appeasement during the last few months of his regime in order to repeat his government in the state. Jai Ram Thakur introduced freebies and opened over 900 institutions without any budgetary provision or requirement, which resulted in a huge burden on the state’s exchequer. “All of this was done for political gains but the intellectual voters of the state out rightly rejected the BJP and gave the mandate to the Congress to form a government and serve its people,” said they.
The Government has overcome a revenue deficit in one year and earned additional revenue of Rs.2200 crore because of measures adopted following fiscal prudence. We have cleared the pension arrears of 30,000 pensioners above 75 years of age.
They suggested Jai Ram Thakur to ascertain the truth before making an allegation on the Jobs and fiscal health of the State, who himself was responsible for the financial fiasco. Jai Ram even said that employees may contest elections if they want pensions, and also started to freeze the arrears of the employees. The Present State government apart from giving OPS has given an instalment of Rs.20,000 to class four employees and 11 percent Dearness Allowance to government employees which was kept in pendency by Jai Ram’s Government.
