WATFORD CITY – The 2024 Best of the West Ribfest was a sizzling success, with Hess Corp. raising more than $2,200 for the Long X Arts Foundation of Watford City.

Hess brought the heat with 250 pounds of legendary ribs and famous smoked mac and cheese, and its cooking team also took home fourth place in the cooking competition. However, the true highlight of the event was the community’s generosity.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Ribfest and grateful for the overwhelming support from the community,” said Brent Lohnes, Hess North Dakota general manager. “Not only did we enjoy some incredible food, but we also had the opportunity to give back and make a positive impact on the lives of local residents, especially our youth.”

The Long X Art Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of Watford City and McKenzie County community members, particularly the youth, by offering unique opportunities for arts-based development, cultivation, and entertainment. The funds raised at Ribfest will go to supporting the foundation’s mission and ensuring that the community continues to thrive through artistic endeavors.
