GGPoker’s microFestival Online Poker Series is back, and, this year, you can win a share of $10 million for little more than $1. This, plus a unique selection of freerolls, makes it one of the hottest online tournament festivals this summer.
The second microFestival Online Poker Series promises to offer even more value than last year’s inaugural small-stakes tournament festival. Topping the bill is a $1 million guaranteed Mystery Bounty Event, but there will be over 200 MTTs on offer between June 27 and July 7.
In line with the series’ theme, the Million Dollar Mystery Bounty Event only costs $10.80 to enter. However, GGPoker will be running a plethora of satellites for this and all other events throughout the microFestival Online Poker Series.
Everyone gets a second shot at glory in 2024
For an added twist, $250,000 of the $10 million total guaranteed prizepool is reserved for freerolls. There will be three daily freerolls during the festival, and each one will have a $5,000 prizepool.
Getting entry to one of these freerolls is simple: you have to lose money. Specifically, you’ll get entry to one of the Second Chance Freerolls if you fail to cash in any microFestival Online Poker Series event.
Tickets are valid for freerolls the following day, and there will be 50 freerolls in total. According to Sarne Lightman, Managing Director of GGPoker, the Second Chance Freerolls are a way of giving something back to players for supporting the microFestival.
“GGPoker’s goal has always been to make poker accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and with events starting at just $1, microFestival offers incredible value and excitement. Adding Second Chance freeroll tournaments is our way of thanking our players,” Lightman said on June 21.
GGPoker microFestival Online Poker Series highlights
The majority of events are bounty and progressive knockout tournaments. However, there’s enough variety on the schedule to satisfy most players. Some of the highlight from the 2024 microFestival Online Poker Series are:
- June 23: $25 buy-in: $150,000 GGMasters Sunday Bounty Edition
- June 24: $5.40 buy-in: $40,000 Bounty Hunters Mini Main
- June 30: $10.80 buy-in: $200,000 Omaholic Mystery Bounty Million$ PLO Event
- July 6: $5.40 buy-in: $25,000 Bounty Hunters Fifty Stack
- July 6: $10.80 buy-in: $125,000 Saturday Secret KO Mystery Bounty
- July 7: $10.80 buy-in: $1 million Mystery Bounty Main Event finale
Expect stiff competition throughout the series. GGPoker is predicting more than 2 million total buy-ins between June 27 and July 7, which means making a final table will be no mean feat.
However, the upside is that many of the guarantees could be soundly beaten. This, combined with the fact mystery bounties will be worth up to $100,000, means you could turn $1 into a six-figure payday during the 2024 microFestival Online Poker Series.
