Must read

A massive field of 7,007 entries turned out for the 2025 _ Italian Poker Sport Rozvadov_ €380 buy-in tournament at King’s Resort Rozvadov in the Czech Republic, blowing away the event’s €1.5 million guarantee to create a final prize pool worth nearly $2.4 million. This set a new record for the largest poker tournament field in the venue’s history.

The tournament ran from Jan. 24 through Feb. 4, with an extra day needed thanks to the overwhelming attendance. When the dust finally settled, it was Germany’s Johann Schamne that emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $230,204.

This was far and away the largest live tournament score yet for Schamne, with this being more than nine times bigger than his previous highest payday of $23,333 that he secured with a third-place finish in a $1,700 buy-in at Casino Baden. He now has more than $285,000 in recorded earnings to his name.

The top four finishers cut an ICM deal that redistributed the prize money. Romania’s Alexandru Moraru ultimately finished second for $174,044, while Schamne’s countryman Robert Ashelm rounded out the top three ($156,364). Fourth-place finisher Marko Bajic cashed for $135,564.

The top 886 finishers made the money in this event, with five figures or more for the final 22.
