EvenBet Gaming, a provider of online poker software and solutions, has released its 2024 E-book, providing an in-depth analysis of the most pressing trends and challenges currently shaping the global iGaming industry. The report highlights regulatory concerns, market competition, and the complexities of technology adoption as the primary challenges facing businesses.
The research, which surveyed over 350 industry professionals from marketing, technical development, and sales sectors, found that the majority of respondents were Chief Executive Officers and stakeholders (31%). For the second consecutive year, regulation and competition were identified as the most significant challenges. Respondents also noted the growing difficulties associated with adopting new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the ongoing challenge of recruiting qualified professionals in new jurisdictions.
A key trend emerging from the survey was the continued focus on expansion. A total of 53% of respondents highlighted market expansion, both in emerging markets and overall, as a priority. This was followed closely by technological advancement, which 16% of participants identified as a central focus. In particular, AI technology was a critical development area, especially in the Asian markets, where it is being leveraged for content production, customer support, and fraud prevention. The integration of AI and machine learning tools remains a priority for many companies aiming to enhance operational efficiencies and product offerings.
The report also explores several specific trends, including:
- The drive to implement personalized customer experiences as a key driver of technological advancement in 2024.
- The growing use of AI for content personalization, player behavior analysis, and fraud prevention.
- A rising interest in virtual reality and the Metaverse among C-level executives, although financial constraints and infrastructure limitations have slowed widespread adoption.
- A decline in the role of social media as a primary news source for industry professionals, with only 15% of respondents relying on social media in 2024, compared to 31% in 2023. Conferences and online media outlets are becoming more prominent sources of industry news.
- Variations in marketing channels by region, with social media remaining dominant in Asia.
- A shared belief among employees and C-suite executives that a professional, supportive team is a key factor in attracting and retaining talent.
