The resale giant first joined forces with ITV’s reality TV show in 2022, when it became its first pre-loved fashion partner.
For the dating show’s 11th season in June, Ebay’s pre-loved style director Amy Bannerman will source a selection of pre-loved clothing and authenticated trainers for the contestants. Customers can shop the villa looks through a dedicated Love Island fashion hub on the Ebay platform.
During the Love Island All Stars TV series, which aired in January 2024, searches for “Love Island pre-loved” increased by over 600% on Ebay and for “Love Island outfits” by 4000%.
Last month, Ebay UK announced that it is removing selling fees for pre-worn clothing as it pushes for more fashion listings.
Jemma Tadd, head of fashion of Ebay UK, said: “We’ve seen attitudes shift in favour of pre-loved through each season of Love Island but there is more work to be done as shoppers still look to fast fashion for the latest trends.”
