Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikander Kumar highlighted key issues to advance the development of Shimla’s residents and tourism industry. Emphasizing Himachal Pradesh’s reliance on tourism, he noted the state’s significant potential for further growth in this sector.
Dr. Kumar proposed a timber trail connecting Shimla’s Jakhu Temple and Tara Devi Temple, both major faith centers frequented by locals and tourists year-round. This connection would not only boost government revenue but also offer an exciting journey for visitors, saving time and enhancing their experience.
Addressing the worsening traffic problem in Shimla, Dr. Kumar stressed the need for flyovers and road widening to alleviate congestion, which is adversely impacting tourism. Despite Shimla being designated as a Smart City, it still lacks essential infrastructure.
He expressed confidence that the central government will take prompt action on these issues, aiding Himachal Pradesh in its developmental journey.
