The district-level under-14 sports competition for boys and girls started on Wednesday at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Junga. In the first phase of this four-day district-level sports competition, 310 female students from 13 education blocks of Shimla district are participating. It was inaugurated by UCO Bank Deputy General Manager Pradeep Anand Kesari. State Airtel Head Brajesh Bhardwaj and UCO Bank Lead District Manager Bhima Dutta were present as special guests.
Pradeep Anand Kesari, while wishing the children, said that sports have great importance in student life, which leads to the all-round development of children. Such events instill a sense of discipline, competition, dedication, and hard work in children, which proves useful in achieving the goals of life.
Principal Suman Chandel while welcoming the chief guest said that this district-level sports competition is being organized in two phases for boys and girls in which competitions for girls will be held on the 11th and 12th of September and for boys on the 13th and 14th of September. In this sports competition cultural programs and athletics will be the main games. Football, hockey, basketball, handball, boxing will also be played. He thanked all the officials and local people for their cooperation in this competition.
On this occasion, the first hockey match was played between Government Senior Secondary School Khaira and Junga in which Junga School was the winner. At the start of the competition, a colorful cultural program was presented by the children.
On this occasion, physical teachers, players, and local school staff from various education blocks of the district were present.
