We’re back for a very special bumper edition of ‘fashion news in five’! Plenty has happened in the last couple of months, and we’re here to share it with you.
A fashionable Kate Moss biopic is on it’s way
Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals, The Trial of Christine Keeler) is set to star in a biopic centred around Kate Moss’s relationship with the late artist Lucian Freud. Emmy winner Derek Jacobi (Gladiator, Hamlet) will be taking on the rule of Freud, who painted Moss during her pregnancy with daughter Lila Moss. Oscar winning screenwriter James Lucas– who won the award for this thrilling short The Phonecall starring Sally Hawkins and Jim Broadbent– is penning the script, with Moss herself heavily involved as an executive producer. In an interview with British Vogue, Moss stated that she is ‘very excited to see the film come to life’. Shooting is set to begin soon.
Kim Jones steps down as artistic director of menswear at Dior
Announced at the very end of the month, Kim Jones is stepping down from Dior menswear after what has been described as a ‘transformative tenure.’ The British designer has helmed Dior Men since 2018, holding an OBE and the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest honour, awarded to him by Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour. Chairman and CEO of Dior, Delphine Arnault, said she was ‘extremely grateful for the remarkable work done by Kim Jones’ when speaking to Vogue, with Jones voicing his ‘sincere gratitude towards Bernard and Delphine Arnault, who have given me their full support.’ We will all be watching closely while Jones figures out his next move.
Uniqlo and JW Anderson reunite for a new collection

Uniqlo x JW Anderson is back for a brand new collaboration, described by British GQ as ‘alumni-ready prep styles…mix-and-matched with gym staples.’ This is the second time the acclaimed creative director of Loewe have collaborated, with the designers first collection with the brand back in 2017 being met with much fanfare. The collection is undoubtedly preppy, mixing classic colours and silhouettes with pops of pastel pinks and oranges.
The collaborations look-book styles each piece meticulously, even threatening to bring back popped-collar polo shirts under blazers (Chuck Bass flashback). Unlike many designer x high street collaborations, JW Anderson x Uniqlo has retained the regular Uniqlo price point. To achieve this, however, many pieces are a polyester blend.

Marianne Faithfull has been described as the ‘ultimate counter-cultural icon’ by The Standard, which still doesn’t feel enough to describe the overwhelming influence Faithfull had on your favourite musicians and trends. Collaborating and inspiring many artists such as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Nick Cave, and PJ Harvey, Faithfull was more than just a muse, inspiring many of The Rolling Stones’s most successful songs such as Sympathy for the Devil and Wild Horses. Faithfull, alongside the likes of Pattie Boyd and Twiggy, was a poster girl for the Swinging Sixties in London.
Her style was quintessentially Carnaby Street, accessorising mini skirts and afghan coats with her heavy fringe and black eyeliner. Despite her life in the 70s being plagued with addiction, homelessness and a battle with anorexia nervosa, Faithfull orchestrated an epic comeback with her album Broken English in 1979, which is widely acknowledged as a masterpiece. Faithfull will be greatly missed as an overall icon and memory of the sixties.
Glenn Martens is named new Creative Director of Maison Margiela
Belgian designer Martens will be replacing John Galliano as creative director of french fashion how Maison Margiela, who helmed the brand from 2014 to now. Martens will be helming both Margiela and Diesel (a position he has held since 2020), and feels ‘truly honoured to join the amazing Maison Margiela’ which he described as ‘a truly unique house’ to Vogue.
Martens has been praised for his unconventional attitudes towards fashion, growing Diesel’s revenue by 13% since his appointment in 2020. Diesel is owned by OTB, the same parent company to Margiela, so it is safe to say that the brand didn’t have to look very far for Galliano’s replacement. OTB chairman Renzo Rosso has said that Martens’s ‘prowess and his vision in couture’ will be an asset to the house.
