Daniel Sepiol Wins WPT Alpha8 Trifecta Event #2 for $672,000 – World Poker Tour

Must read

Daniel Sepiol picked up his second major World Poker Tour title after taking down the second event of the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta at Wynn Las Vegas for the second-largest score of his career.

Hard work and momentum continue to pay off for WPT World Championship winner Daniel Sepiol who topped the field of 108 entries in the second event of the $25K WPT Alpha8 Trifecta at Wynn Las Vegas for $672,000.

The victory is the second-largest of Sepiol’s career, only behind the $5.2 million score he earned last December by winning the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. Add to that, Sepiol also earned his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet earlier this summer in Event #23 ($1,500 No Limit Hold’em Shootout) for $305,849 and it’s clear that Sepiol is having a career year, playing at the top of his game.

With this victory, Sepiol is in line to win his way into the next WPT World Championship, taking the lead on the WPT Trifect $25K Leaderboard, the top 8 of which will earn a seat into the 2024 event this December.

The second event brought out an elite field of 108 entries and generated a prize pool of more than $2.5 million. The registration list read like a who’s who of high-profile high rollers including WPT Champions Club members Darren Elias, Nick Schulman, Nick Petrangelo, Dominik Nitsche, and Chino Rheem just to name a few. Also of note, Poker Hall of Fame nominee and WPT Honors inductee Isai Scheinberg was also spotted taking a shot.

At the end of Day 1, it was Brandon Adams who was the overnight chip leader with just 19 remaining. And when Day 2 got underway, Sepiol was in the middle of the pack but a big hand took place during bubble and Sepiol took down a big pot off Adams which sent him soaring in the chip counts. Once Sepiol took the chip lead at the final table, he never gave it up.

The final WPT Alpha8 Trifect event will take place on July 10-11 at Wynn Las Vegas.
