ATPI launches CrewHub self-booking platform for group travel

Must read

Travel management company ATPI has launched a new self-booking platform called CrewHub, which is designed to make it easier to manage group travel.

The UK-based company said the exclusive proprietary platform can streamline “complex” multi-destination bookings into a single transaction. The platform allows organisers to book multiple travellers on flights from any airport globally to a single destination.

ATPI said CrewHub would “significantly reduce” booking times when arranging travel for crews working in sectors such as energy, marine, television production, sports events or larger meetings and events.

Organising crew and group travel has traditionally been a “cumbersome and time-consuming process”, added ATPI, with bookers largely having to use manual offline processes to book travel and make multiple changes.

The TMC added that CrewHub could also provide users with special fares and booking options tailored to sector or business-specific needs. This covers remote locations, flexible scheduling and the specialist requirements of offshore workers.

Jenny Thornton, director of technology solutions at ATPI, said: “CrewHub is a unique solution that allows all sectors to go online, self-serve and bring huge time efficiencies to their travel programme.

“Booking crew and group travel has been reserved for experienced consultants to handle offline for years, due to the complexities of co-ordinating multiple itineraries, preferences and logistical requirements across various providers and platforms.”

CrewHub is currently being trialled with a “select group” of ATPI clients before being rolled out to marine and energy businesses during the first quarter of 2025. It will then be launched to clients in other sectors during the rest of next year, including corporate, entertainment, sports and mining customers.

The TMC says CrewHub is a “new and improved” version of Vessul which was originally launched in 2021 by travel tech firm TapTrip, in which ATPI was an investor. TapTrip was then sold to TripStax in 2022 but ATPI retained Vessul as an exclusive technology.
