The European Commission has added Air Tanzania to the EU Air Safety List, banning it from flying in the EU.
“The latest update adds Air Tanzania to the list due to safety concerns identified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency,” said the Commission, which did not specify any particular violations.
The airline has subsequently been denied a Third Country Operator (TCO) authorisation by the EU.
The list is compiled by the European Commission based on occurrence reporting, which tracks and analyses safety-related events in civil aviation.
Air Tanzania, represented by TravelVision in South Africa, launched flights to Johannesburg in November 2024, as reported by Travel News.
