Aer Lingus has agreed an NDC (New Distribution Capability) distribution deal with online travel giant Expedia Group.
The Irish airline, which is part of IAG, said that the agreement would give users of Expedia’s platforms the ability to book its “best value” fares to 95 destinations across North America and Europe.
Aer Lingus said that Expedia customers would have access to the same services as those booking directly on its website, including flight updates and check-in through the airline’s app. They can also earn rewards from both the Aer Lingus and Expedia loyalty programmes.
Susanne Carberry, chief customer officer at Aer Lingus, said: “Aer Lingus is delighted to partner with Expedia Group to offer our best value fares and seamless connections between North America and Ireland, and indeed the rest of Europe.”
The airline’s transatlantic services benefit from US immigration and customs pre-clearance being available at both Dublin and Shannon airports.
Susan Spinney, senior vice president of trips partnerships at Expedia Group, added: “We’re excited to expand our offerings with Aer Lingus, opening a world of possibilities for customers crafting their dream journeys across North America and Europe.”
Earlier this year, Expedia Group agreed an expanded strategic partnership with Amadeus to integrate the technology firm’s NDC content across its online travel brands.
