Jeremy Ausmus Tops Record Field of 391 In Triton Poker Jeju $25,000 Event

Must read

Jeremy Ausmus topped the largest field in Triton Poker history, outlasting a record 391 entries in the 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series $25,000 no-limit hold’em eight max event to earn his first trident trophy and the top prize of $1,892,000.

This was the third-largest career score for Ausmus, a six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner from the United States. The 45-year-old Las Vegas resident now has more than $26.6 million in recorded earnings across 374 in-the-money finishes.

This huge triumph also came with 2,100 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was the third POY-qualified final table of the year for Ausmus, who also took down the $1 million PGT Championship invitational to cap off his PokerGO Tour season-long points race win for 2024. With 2,870 POY points, Ausmus now sits in first place in the 2025 race, which is sponsored by Global Poker.

Ausmus’ could have easily been eliminated when there were still 23 players remaining, as he picked up pocket kings against the pocket aces of Aliaksandr Shylko. He announced a raise that was too small to count. As a result, he was required to kick the hand off with a limp. Shylko raised, then flat-called Ausmus’ three-bet. The confusion very well could have saved Ausmus from getting his entire stack in preflop. Shylko ended up making quads and winning the sizable pot, but might have been able to eliminate Ausmus had things played out a little differently preflop.

Shylko ended up bubbling the official final table. The 2023 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship winner earned $178,000 as the ninth-place finisher.

A three-way all-in saw two players eliminated in the same hand. Three-time Triton Poker champion Matthias Eibinger was all-in with pocket nines facing the pocket aces of Quan Zhou and A-K suited of Shunjiro Kita. Heading into the river Kita plenty of outs, with a royal flush draw and a pair of kings. The final card was a brick, though, and Zhou’s pocket aces held to narrow the field to six. Eibinger earned $222,000 as the eighth-place finisher, while Kita secured $314,000 for his first cash in a Triton event.

Paulius Vaitiekunas was the next to fall. He lost the majority of his stack with QDiamond SuitJDiamond Suit facing the ADiamond SuitKClub Suit of Alexander ‘Wolfgang Poker’ Seibt. The best hand held up and Vaitiekunas was left on fumes. He managed a double up, but was soon all-in again with 5-4 trailing the pocket jacks of Zhou, who improved to a king-high straight by the river to send Vaitiekunas home with $417,000. The Lithuanian bracelet winner now has more than $4.6 million in recorded scores to his name.

The next big clash saw Sim Kok Wai raise from the small blind with ASpade SuitADiamond Suit. Maksim Vaskresenski three-bet shoved with QHeart Suit9Heart Suit from the big blind for six big blinds. Wai snap called and the board brought four diamonds to give him the nut flush for the win. Vaskresenski left with $532,000, which was good for the second-highest payout of his career.

Alexander 'Wolfgang Poker' SeibtSeibt’s cinderella run in this event came to an end when his AHeart Suit8Club Suit was unable to best the QClub Suit9Heart Suit of Ausmus who min-raised from the button for 2,400,000 and called the 4,800,000 shove from Seibt out of the small blind. The board came down 9Spade Suit5Spade Suit4Diamond SuitQDiamond SuitJHeart Suit and Ausmus made two pair to eliminate Seibt in fourth place. The popular poker vlogger, who now has nearly 1.6 million YouTube subscribers, earned $680,000 as the fourth-place finisher. This was his largest tournament score by far, with his previous top payday being the $62,000 he earned for a 22nd-place showing in the event that directly preceded this one in Jeju. He now has more than $840,000 in lifetime cashes.

Wai got the last of his stack in with KDiamond SuitKClub Suit, limping from the small blind then calling a shove from Quan Zhou out of the big blind. Zhou had made the all-in for ten big blinds effective with 5Spade Suit3Diamond Suit. The 10Diamond Suit6Diamond Suit4Heart Suit10Club Suit7Spade Suit runout saw Zhou river a seven-high straight to score the knockout in brutal fashion. Wai was awarded $855,000 for his third-place showing.

Heads-up play began with Zhou holding roughly a 3:2 chip lead over Ausmus. The lead had changed hands ahead of the final deal of the tournament, though. Zhou shoved from the button with 3Heart Suit3Diamond Suit for 31,700,000. Ausmus called out of the big blind with AHeart Suit9Diamond Suit, having the 20 big blind wager covered. The flop came down ASpade Suit9Spade Suit5Club Suit to turn the coin flip into a massive advantage for Ausmus. The KDiamond Suit turn left Zhou in need of one of the two remaining threes in the deck on the river. Instead, the 2Club Suit rolled off to crown Ausmus as the champion. Zhou earned $1,193,000 as the runner-up, a new top score for the Chinese tournament crusher. He now has more than $11.7 million in career earnings.
