The 2025 PokerNews Online Championship Mystery Bounty Main Event at 888poker has a $300,000 guarantee on its prize pool. Time is running out if you want to be in with a shout of winning a slice of that pie because only a handful of $215 buy-in Day 1s remain.
The Main Event requires 1,500 entrants to hit the lofty guarantee. At the time of writing, 766 players had bought in over 15 flights, with only 88 navigating through the shark-infested waters into Day 2. 888poker ambassador Ian “Simpioni” Simpson is one of them. The popular Brit ended his flight with 112,328 chips, putting him in the top 25% of the returning field.
PokerNews ambassador Lukas “RobinPoker.” Robinson is also safely through, albeit with a much shorter stack. Robinson progressed with 43,698, just shy of 18 big blinds, so he has some work to do when Day 2 shuffles up and deals at 9:30 p.m. GMT on February 24. Could An Overlay Be On the Cards?
As mentioned, 766 players have bought into the PNOC Main Event across 15 completed Day 1s, which leads us to believe an overlay on the $300,000 guarantee is a possibility. Only six flights remain, and they need to attract at least 734 to the 888poker virtual felt, essentially doubling the average attendance of the completed flights. It is a tall order, but that means more value for the player who have/do enter the mix.

PokerNews Online Championship Results
Twenty-two PNOC events have crowned their champions, with plenty more still to come. “El_hombre” won the festival’s largest single prize after coming out on top in the $100,000 Opening Event PKO for $13,823. They will only hold that record until after the weekend because the $300,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event has a jackpot bounty of $30,000 waiting to be unwrapped.
