Welcome to the PokerNews Streamer Showcase!

Must read

Welcome to the Streamer Showcase, a brand-new monthly series from PokerNews!

Each month, we’ll spotlight the biggest moments from your favorite poker content creators, bringing you the biggest bluffs, mind-blowing hero calls, and the kind of wild hands that make poker streaming so entertaining. Whether it’s a deep tournament run, a legendary misclick, or just pure streaming gold, we’ve got it all covered.

Stay tuned as we break down the most exciting highlights from the poker streaming world—because sometimes, the best hands aren’t the ones you see at the final table!

Comeskey Getting Weird from the Get Go

Back in November 2024, PokerStars welcomed two new ambassadors to its roster: high-stakes crusher Jason Koon and rising poker personality Caitlin Comeskey. While Koon needs no introduction, Comeskey has carved out her own niche in the poker world with her comedic, spot-on parody videos that hilariously capture the quirks of the game and its players.

Comeskey was honored at the 2023 Global Poker Awards, winning Best Short-Form Content Creator and now, with her new partnership with the Spadie brand, she’s bringing that same energy to the streaming scene. And things may have got weird from the off.

While playing the Winter Series on PokerStars New Jersey, which shares liquidity with Michigan, Comeskey took a moment to shine a light on fellow ambassador and streamer David Kaye—only to find him seated directly to her right after a table change. Let’s just say that in the heat of the moment, Comeskey’s excitement may have gotten the best of her.

Now, we’re not saying Comesky needs an exorcist after switching into a demonic tone, but after witnessing the laugh that erupted when she binked a ticket to the Winter Series 82: $1,000 NLHE [High Roller Main], $75K Gtd, it might not be a bad idea to have one on speed dial.

Want to see more of Comeskey on the virtual felt? You don’t need to wait long as she’ll be back in front of the camera this weekend, where we’ll hopefully see her put on her cape once again and crush more souls at the table.

Ace From Space for Patrik “Egption” Tardif

Patrik “Egption” Tardif has long been one of the most popular online poker streamers, amassing over $11 million in online earnings throughout his career. In 2024, he joined WPT Global as their Canada ambassador, a role that has seen him host meet-up games in his home country.

Now, he also gets the honor of being the first Suckout Recipient of the Streamer Showcase after channeling his inner Barry Greenstein and finding an ace from space to deliver a brutal bad beat.

Badugi Bad Beat Breaks “New_Dave”

While the poker gods gaveth to Tardif, they certainly tooketh from David Gibson, aka “New_Dave” on Twitch.

Gibson, a micro- and low-stakes streamer, is best known for being the only winner of the Chris Eubank Jr Knockout Challenge. While he showed his mastery in No Limit Hold’em during that event, Gibson’s true home is in the Mixed Game lobbies on PokerStars. In November, he kicked off his own mixed game challenge, setting out to conquer every $16.50 and under mixed game tournament on the daytime schedule.

By mid-January, Gibson had racked up eight wins out of 34 events, but one hand, in particular, would haunt him for much longer: a brutal bad beat in the $4.40 Fixed-Limit Badugi.

Badugi is a fun draw poker game where the goal is to make the lowest possible hand using four cards, but there’s a twist—each card has to be a different suit and rank. The nuts is A234, while pairs and trips are the worst hands you can have.

During heads-up play, Gibson started with a solid Badugi hand—9643—and after discarding his nine, he drew 5 on the first draw, leaving him with a six-five Badugi, a very strong hand, especially in heads-up. However, his opponent managed to pip him with a six-four Badugi, which shattered Gibson’s brain.

A Round of Applause for Marle Spragg

Poker has no shortage of power couples. You’ve got Alex and Kristen Foxen in the US, Matt and Sinead Davenport in the UK, and Frankie Cucchiara and Kitty Kuo

But PokerStars has its very own poker-playing husband and wife duo, Ben and Marle Spragg, who found themselves facing off at the same table during a $44 Bounty Builder.

“Spraggy” tried to pull off a semi-bluff for his tournament life against his wife, Marle. Spoiler alert: It didn’t exactly go the way he’d hoped.

Dream Spot for Barone????

There are few better feelings in poker than waking up with aces, especially when your opponent jams into you. 888poker streamer Aaron Barone found himself in that exact situation while battling it out in the site’s XL Winter Series.

The chips went in, and Barone was confident he’d send a short stack packing. But things took a turn when a less-than-stellar hand managed to crack his rockets, leaving him stunned and speechless.

Want to see more of Barone’s highlights from 888poker’s first online festival of the year? Luckily for you, Barone shared some of his favorite moments from the series in a thread on X.
