Medha Shankr set for urban role
Actress Medha Shankr, who gained massive fandom with her work in 12th Fail alongside Vikrant Massey, will now be seen in a fresh avatar alongside actor Sunny Kaushal and the actress has wrapped up the shoot for the upcoming film. The untitled project, produced by Laxman Utekar, is a quirky comedy that brings a fresh pairing to the screen. The film was shot in Bikaner over nearly two months, and Shankr wrapped up her portions early this week. This marks a new phase in her career, as she takes on an urban role, different from her previous performance. The yet-to-be titled film is touted to be a quirky detective comedy.
Shyamalan, Jake Gyllenhaal to unite for supernatural movie
Filmmaker M Night Shyamalan is set to collaborate with Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal for his next directorial project. The project is a supernatural romantic thriller, based on an original story co-created by Shyamalan and bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks, reported entertainment news outlet Deadline. Shyamalan and Sparks are independently creating a screenplay and a novel, respectively, both inspired by the same original love story. Each project will feature the same core concept and characters, but will be uniquely adapted to suit its medium. The details of the project have been kept under wraps.
Oscar-nominated short Anuja is all set for OTT release
Academy award-nominated live-action short film Anuja will be released on Netflix on February 5, the streamer announced on Thursday. Directed by Adam J Graves, the short is billed as a hopeful and heartfelt tale of resilience, love, and opportunity amidst hardship. Anuja has Hollywood star-writer Mindy Kaling on board as producer, with two-time Oscar winner Guneet Monga and superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas attached as executive producers.
Rebecca joins Adam Wingard’s Onslaught
Actress Rebecca Hall has joined forces yet again with her Godzilla x Kong director Adam Wingard for his upcoming action thriller Onslaught, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has stated, adding that there are no character details available for Hall as yet. THR further stated that Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett will produce Onslaught under their Ryder Picture Company banner alongside A24. As for Hall, the actress, known for her roles in Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla x Kong: New Empire, Christine and The Town, is also known for her work as a writer and director; she directed and co-wrote the 2021 feature Passing.Agencies
