PokerGO’s High Stakes Poker Season 14 Episode 3: Kulick Continues His Reign of Terror; Gonsalves & Gavri Exit

Must read

PokerGO’s High Stakes Poker Season 14 is serving up red-hot action! Episode 3 premiered Monday night, and it was hands down the most explosive yet of the season. HSP regulars Brandon Steven, Andrew Robl, and Justin Gavri were back in the mix, joined again by debutants Marc Kulick, Jared Bleznick, Seth Gottlieb, and Markus Gonsalves, who clearly weren’t there to just play it safe.

Marc Kulick, the undisputed champion from the previous week, continued his reign of terror. Kulick’s stack skyrocketed past the $1 Million mark after he pulled off a miraculous win against Markus Gonsalves. The staggering $613,000 pot left Gonsalves reeling and forced him to make an early exit. This devastating blow may have ended his season before it even had a chance to begin.

Brandon Steven turned up the heat earlier in the episode, raking in a $103,200 pot at the expense of Justin Gavri. Sadly, this blow proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Gavri, who also left the game midway through the night.

The action kicked off with the stakes unchanged at $200/$400, and the intensity never let up. These players put their money where their mouths were, delivering another unforgettable night of high-stakes poker.

Stack sizes at the start of the episode:

  1. Andrew Robl – $795,100
  2. Marc Kulick – $645,500
  3. Brandon Steven – $615,600
  4. Seth Gottlieb – $326,300
  5. Jared Bleznick – $303,200
  6. Markus Gonsalves – $239,200
  7. Justin Gavri – $51,300

Marc Kulick’s Hot Run Continues

Marc Kulick, the real estate tycoon from Tulsa, is proving that being the new kid on the block doesn’t mean you can’t run the show. This HSP debutant has been turning heads and stacking chips like a regular at the High Stakes Poker table, and Episode 3 was no different. Kulick kept the action coming fast and furious with a fearless attitude and a stack of cash.

Brandon Steven and Justin Gavri were trading jabs right off the bat, but Kulick wasn’t there to just watch. He jumped into the mix with , calling the $1,600 big blind. Jared Bleznick, holding , came along from the small blind, and Markus Gonsalves, with the $800 straddle, joined the party with . Even Andrew Robl, in the big blind with , decided to see what the flop would bring.

And boy, did that flop bring the heat! The dealer spread , and Bleznick hit a monster set of fours. He didn’t waste any time, firing out a $5,000 bet. Gonsalves and Robl quickly folded, but Kulick made a relatively easy call with his open-ender.

The turn brought the , giving Kulick a pair to go with his straight draw. Bleznick, still feeling strong, bet $13,000. Kulick, cool as a cucumber, made the call.

Then came the river – the . Kulick had it! A nine-high straight. Bleznick, maybe not realizing the danger he was in, put out a small bet of $3,000. Kulick, clearly amused, couldn’t help but stir the pot a little.

“So, that’s like a pot-sized bet?” he joked, getting a chuckle from the table. Then, with a mischievous grin, he asked, “What the heck is that? I was ready for like $40,000 or $50,000. I’m like, ‘Do I call or do I raise? What do I do?’ But $3,000!”

Without missing a beat, he announced, “I’m definitely raising. Let’s just put that out there.” And raise he did, pumping it up to a massive $50,000.

Bleznick, looking a little rattled, thought it over for a while before finally calling. Kulick, with a dramatic flourish, revealed his straight, sending Bleznick’s set of fours into the muck and raking in a whopping $143,200 pot. And that was just the beginning of another crazy episode of High Stakes Poker!

Gavri’s High Stakes Heartbreak: A Brutal Exit From PokerGO’s Hottest Show

If Episode 2 was rough for Justin Gavri, Episode 3 was downright brutal. After getting hammered by Marc Kulick and Jared Bleznick last week, this episode delivered the knockout punch that sent Gavri packing from the PokerGO studio.

The hand that sealed his fate started with Gavri raising to $3,600 with . Brandon Steven, sitting on an $800 straddle, wasn’t having it. He three-bet to $11,000 with . But Gavri wasn’t backing down – he shoved all-in for $50,300, and Steven snap-called. With a $103,200 pot on the line, they decided to run it twice just to add to the drama.

The first board came , giving Steven the first half of the pot. Always the showman, Steven joked with the dealer, “See if you can do the same exact board but different suits.”

Gavri, quick with a comeback, shot back, “Yeah, all spades.”

The second board was insane. The flop came down , giving Steven a flopped full house! “I just flopped a full house. I hope it can hold,” Steven said with a grin. The on the turn left Gavri with almost no chance, and he stood up, knowing it was over.

“Oh, don’t do that,” Steven said playfully, but Gavri had already accepted his fate. “Good game,” he said, admitting defeat. The river confirmed Steven’s sweep of the pot, sending Gavri out the door.

Bleznick’s Bluff Blows Up in His Face: Kulick Continues to Crush!

Poor Jared Bleznick! It seems like every time he tangles with Marc Kulick, things go south in a hurry. This hand was no exception. It all started with Bleznick raising to $4,000 with . The action folded to Seth Gottlieb, who was sitting on an $800 straddle and called with . And, of course, Kulick, never one to miss the action, jumped in with .

The flop was a spicy one: . With three spades staring everyone in the face, all three players decided to play it cool and check. The turn brought the , and boom – Kulick had a flush! Gottlieb checked again, and Kulick, sensing an opportunity, bet $8,000. Bleznick, always ready to gamble, snap-called, while Gottlieb wisely got out of the way.

The river was the , and Kulick, still holding the nuts, confidently fired out $18,000. But Bleznick, oh Bleznick, he decided to go for it. With absolutely nothing on the board, he went for a massive bluff, raising to $40,000!

Kulick, caught off guard by the raise, started laughing and thinking out loud. “It’s funny,” he said. “I told myself if you come over the top, I’m auto-calling. But I have the second nut low flush. So now that you’ve done it, I feel like it’s a really bad idea to call.”

But even with those doubts swirling in his head, Kulick couldn’t resist. He made the call, and guess what? A $109,000 pot went right into his stack!

What happened next was pure comedy gold. Kulick, thinking he had actually lost the hand, accidentally pushed the pot towards Bleznick. But Bleznick, knowing he had been caught bluffing, slid the chips right back to Kulick. The whole table burst out laughing, and Brandon Steven chimed in with, “That’s amazing. He just loves funnelling money to my buddy over here.”

Robl Turns the Tables: Bleznick’s Rough Night Continues With Another $149K Hit!

After that disastrous bluff against Marc Kulick, Jared Bleznick was definitely feeling the heat. But on the very next hand, he tried to shake it off and get back in the game, raising to $3,000 with . Markus Gonsalves was along for the ride with , but things got really interesting when Andrew Robl woke up with and three-bet to $16,000. Kulick decided to play too with , and Bleznick and Gonsalves also threw in their chips to see what would happen.

The flop was a wild one: . So many possibilities! Kulick, Bleznick, and Gonsalves all checked, but Robl, always the aggressor, fired out a $20,000 bet. Kulick and Gonsalves quickly folded, but Bleznick, with top pair, decided to stick around and called.

The turn was the . This would have given Kulick top pair, but he was already out of the hand, so it was down to Bleznick and Robl. Bleznick checked, and Robl kept the pressure on with a $22,000 bet. Bleznick thought it over for a bit, then called, probably hoping his pair of nines was good enough.

But the river, the , was the final nail in the coffin. With the board not offering much help, Bleznick checked again. Robl, however, opted to play it safe and checked back.

“Just a nine,” Bleznick said with a sigh, showing his cards. Robl, without a word, flipped over his pocket kings, scooping up the $149,000 pot.

Bleznick Bites Back! A Daring All-In Shove Finally Turns the Tide

Just when it seemed like Jared Bleznick was down for the count, he pulled off a gutsy move and finally caught a break! Taking on Andrew Robl, Bleznick took a massive gamble and shoved all-in – and for once, things went his way.

The hand started with Seth Gottlieb raising to $1,600 with . Marc Kulick got out of the way, but Bleznick, holding , and Markus Gonsalves, with , both called. Andrew Robl, sitting on an $800 straddle, wasn’t about to let things fizzle out – he three-bet to $20,000 with . Brandon Steven folded his , and Gottlieb also decided to sit this one out.

With the spotlight back on him, Bleznick didn’t even flinch – shoving all-in for a hefty $120,000! Gonsalves decided to live to fight another day, leaving Robl with a tough decision.

As everyone held their breath, Robl tried to lighten the mood. “The good news for you is my hand’s not that good,” he said. “But the good or bad news is I still might call.” The table erupted in laughter, and then Robl just shrugged and said, “Whatever,” before making the call.

They decided to run it once, and when Bleznick showed his , Robl let out a groan. “Oh no!” Bleznick, feeling a surge of hope, replied, “Good luck, Andrew!”

The flop came down , a board full of hearts that made Seth Gottlieb wish he hadn’t folded his . Both Bleznick and Robl had top pair with their Aces, but Bleznick’s Jack kicker put him in the lead.

The turn and river didn’t change anything, and Bleznick finally won a hand, raking in a gigantic $244,800 pot!

Kulick’s Reign of Terror Continues: Gonsalves Goes Bust in a Jaw-Dropping $613K Pot!

Marc Kulick was on fire in Episode 3, and this time, Markus Gonsalves felt the burn. Throughout the episode, Kulick seemed to defy the odds, and this hand was no exception.

It all started with Brandon Steven raising to $4,000 with . But Steven accidentally tossed in the wrong number of chips, and Kulick, always quick with a joke, couldn’t resist. “Ah, the string bet? I’m sorry, I can’t allow this at my table,” he quipped. Steven, with a grin, shot back, “This is definitely your table.” Little did they know how true those words would be.

Seth Gottlieb decided to turn up the heat, three-betting to $15,000 with . Kulick, holding , called. Jared Bleznick wisely folded, but Markus Gonsalves wasn’t messing around – he four-bet to a hefty $50,000 with ! Steven quickly got out of the way, leaving Gottlieb and Kulick to ponder their options. Gottlieb eventually called, and Kulick, always up for a gamble, decided to play along too.

“We’ve got a poker game,” Bleznick announced as the dealer spread the flop: . Surprisingly, everyone checked, making the tension even thicker. The turn was the , giving Gottlieb top pair. He saw his chance and fired out $65,000. Kulick, now with an open-ended straight draw, called without hesitation. But Gonsalves wasn’t going anywhere – he shoved all-in for a massive $196,000!

“Oh f**k!” Gottlieb exclaimed, clearly not happy about this turn of events. After asking for a count, he started thinking out loud. “I showed a set of twos, and now everyone’s just bullying me around.” Even though he had the best hand at that moment, he reluctantly folded.

Now, Kulick was in a tough spot. Facing a huge decision with only an 18% chance of winning, he couldn’t resist the temptation. “Why couldn’t I have folded it at $50,000?” he wondered out loud, but in the end, he made the call. The pot swelled to a mind-blowing $613,000!

With so much money on the line, they decided to run it twice. As Gonsalves showed his cards, Gottlieb groaned, realizing his Ace-Queen would have been in the lead. Frustrated, he stood up, clearly regretting his fold.

The first river was the , and boom – Kulick made a six-high straight, winning the first half of the pot! “It feels really good to win the first one,” Kulick said, clearly enjoying himself. The second river was the , giving Kulick a seven-high straight and the second half of that colossal$613,000 pot.

For Gonsalves, it was a brutal beat. After playing a careful game for the first three episodes, this crushing loss sent him to the rail. He decided not to rebuy and walked out of the PokerGO studio, the second player to exit the episode after Justin Gavri.

Gottlieb Close Out a Wild Episode With a $243K Explosion

Just when you thought the fireworks were over, Seth Gottlieb decided to end the episode with a bang! It all started with Marc Kulick, who had been running the table all night, casually limping in for $2,000 with . Brandon Steven, holding , decided to come along for the ride. But then Gottlieb, with a monster hand of , raised it to $10,000. Kulick, always up for a challenge, called, while Steven wisely decided to sit this one out.

The flop was an interesting one: . Kulick had a pair of sixes and a gutshot straight draw. Gottlieb’s Aces were still in the lead, but that board had the potential to cause some serious trouble, especially with Kulick playing like a man possessed. But Gottlieb didn’t back down – he bet $15,000. Kulick, chasing his straight, made the call.

The turn was the , not much help for Kulick, but it definitely added to the suspense. Gottlieb kept his foot on the gas, firing another $35,000 into the pot. Kulick, never one to fold without a fight, called again.

The river was the . It completed a possible straight, but it wasn’t the one Kulick needed. Gottlieb, with the confidence of a man holding pocket rockets, bet a hefty $60,000. Kulick was clearly torn. “I should fold,” he said. “It’s the last hand.”

But folding just wasn’t in his DNA. He started talking himself through the hand. “You just kept betting. Flush hits, you still bet. King hits, still bet. It’s where I get myself into trouble. I’m like, ‘Bet every street.’ It’s like nothing worried you at all. Seems to me to be a bluff.”

Unable to resist the temptation, Kulick made the call.

“The gods blessed me on the last hand,” Gottlieb said with a triumphant grin as he flipped over his Aces.

“Oh wow! That makes sense actually,” Kulick admitted, accepting defeat as Gottlieb added $243,500 to his stack to close out the episode.
