The best dates in February for Minnesota sports fans to travel to the Twin Cities are unquestionably in the first weekend of the month because the second-ranked University of Minnesota women’s hockey team will host third-ranked Ohio State the afternoon of Feb. 1. The Gopher men also take on Wisconsin.
Afterward you can head over to St. Paul to see some of the best street snowboarders in the world take over the steps outside the State Capitol. Then you can head back to Minneapolis for what will be an especially affordable Timberwolves game against the Wizards.

Minnesota Gophers wrestling hosts Rutgers, Iowa
On Sunday, Feb. 2, you can catch the sixth-best wrestling program in the country take on #16 Rutgers, but if you want to catch the University of Minnesota wrestling team take on Iowa on Valentine’s Day, you better act fast because tickets are limited .
The weekend of Feb. 21 is also loaded, featuring the Lady Gopher track invitational. There’s also two Gopher women’s hockey games between the third- and fourth-ranked teams in the country. You can also enjoy a giant Western Conference NBA game between the Timberwolves and Thunder.

Minnesota Gophers women’s hockey hosts WCHA Quarterfinals
There’s a good chance the WCHA Quarterfinals will be held at the University of Minnesota on Feb 28, so don’t sleep on the first weekend of March. As someone who’s attended that tournament previously, I assure you it’s worth your time and is an absolute bargain.
Big Ten Championship men’s swimming is also in action that weekend. Additionally, the Gopher tennis team hosts North Dakota and Boise State, and you can attend those tennis meets for free. The Lady Gopher softball team also hosts Miami (OH) at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Wild also host Boston and the Timberwolves host Phoenix on Sunday, Mar. 2.
