Must read

Patrik Jaros secured the largest live tournament score of his career on home soil, topping a field of 289 entries to win the 2024 European Poker Tour Prague €10,300 no-limit hold’em high roller for $607,910. The Czech player now has more than $2.4 million in recorded earnings to his name after this sizable win.

Prior to this title run, Jaros’ top score had been the $447,896 he secured as the fifth-place finisher in the 2022 EPT Barcelona main event.

This triumph came with 1,140 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was Jaros’ third POY-qualified final table and 11th final-table finish of 2024. As a result, he now sits in 77th place in the overall standings sponsored by Global Poker heading into the final couple of the race.

Jaros was far from the only in-form player to put up a strong showing in this event. Runner-up Nichan Khorchidian was just a couple of weeks removed from taking down the Gatsby Gala Series main event at Merit Cyprus for $307,700. He added another $379,904 with his second-place finish in this event. Khorchidian has now made four POY-qualified final tables in 2024, accumulating enough points to climb to 79th place in the rankings. His total of 3,310 trails Jaros’ 3,327 by just 17 points.

Other notables that made it down to the business-end of this event included 2018 World Series of Poker Europe main event champion Jack Sinclair (18th), bracelet winner Simon Mattsson (17th), 2022 WSOP main event champion Espen Jorstad (11th), 2010 EPT Copenhagen main event winner Anton Wigg (7th), 2016 SOP main event fifth-place finisher Vojtech Ruzicka (4th), and Belarusian high-stakes tournament player Artsiom Lasouski (3rd).
