Proflight scraps DUR-LUN flights

Must read

Contrary to recent reports by Acsa, Proflight Zambia halted its Durban-Lusaka flights in the third quarter of this year.

On November 22, Acsa announced on LinkedIn that Proflight Zambia’s Durban-Lusaka route had been expanded to two flights per week, enhancing international connectivity for the upcoming peak season.

However, Gordon Treigaardt, a Sales Representative at the C&L Travel Collective, which represents Proflight Zambia in South Africa, told Travel News that the service had been halted due to due to disappointing passenger loads on the flights.

He said the decision was based on low demand. Despite campaigns to try and market the route, he said it was unsustainable to continue operating the loss-making service.

He said the airline hoped to recover its losses with the new Cape Town-Livingstone flights that launched on December 1.
