The third and final $5,100 buy-in pot-limit Omaha high roller event of the 2024 PokerGO Tour Texas PLO Roundup drew 22 entries, creating a $110,000 prize pool. The one-day affair concluded with Dutch poker pro Ronald Keijzer holding the winner’s belt buckle trophy.
Keijzer earned $40,150 for the win after making a heads-up deal with Arthur Morris, who also finished runner-up in the previous high roller tournament just a day earlier.
This was the seventh recorded tournament title for Keijzer, who won a World Series of Poker bracelet back in 2018 by taking down a $3,000 buy-in PLO event in Las Vegas. He now has more than $3.1 million in lifetime cashes to his name after this latest triumph.
This win also awarded 40 PGT points to Keijzer. It was his second qualified title and ninth cash of the year. He now has 791 total points, good for 54th place in the 2024 standings.
Isaac Kempton was knocked out on the bubble by Keijzer, who made a seven-high straight to narrow the field to four. Keijzer then eliminated Mark Ioli (4th – $12,100) to take a healthy chip lead into three-handed play.
Ky Nguyen, who finished third in the second high roller for $16,000 just a day earlier, also managed a podium showing in this tournament. His pocket aces ran into top set of jacks for Morris to see him finish third yet again, this time for $17,600.
Heads-up play began with Keijzer holding roughly a 3:1 chip advantage. Morriss managed an early double up, though, prompting the final two to hash out an agreement to redistribute the remaining prize money. They chopped, securing $40,150 for both contenders while leaving the title to play for.
The final hand saw all the chip go in on a A84 with Morris holding AJJ2 against the K1084 of Keijzer. The 5 turn and K river kept Keijzer’s two pair best to eliminate Morris in second place.
Morris, a WSOP Circuit main event champion, now has nearly $3.1 million in career tournament earnings after this latest deep run.
