MSC has announced that the MSC Opera will come to South Africa in the 2025/2026 season.
MSC Opera has a lower capacity than its sister ship, MSC Musica which will sail MSC South Africa’s cruise programme between November this year and April 2025.
MSC Opera accommodates up to 2 658 passengers in 1 070 cabins, while MSC Musica can accommodate up to 3 223 in 1 275 cabins.
After a season in the Mediterranean, the Opera is scheduled to offer a repositioning cruise from Venice to Durban via the Red Sea, calling in Croatia, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius and Reunion before arriving in South African waters to spend the South African summer season sailing short cruises from Durban and Cape Town.
Bookings are now open for the MSC Opera’s 2025/2026 season of sailings from South Africa, starting on November 28, 2025.
