Netflix axes Rob Lowe-starrer comedy series Unstable
Streaming platform Netflix has pulled the plug on comedy series Unstable, fronted by Rob Lowe, after two seasons. The show, co-created by and starring Rob and his son John Owen Lowe, premiered its second season on August 1. Season one arrived in March 2023. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Unstable didn’t enter the streamer’s internal top 10 rankings in the weeks following its release. It was the 10th-ranked show for its premiere week and had 1.4 million views (hours viewed divided by running time). The series followed Rob as the extremely eccentric head of a biotechnology company and John Owen Lowe as his son, who joins the firm to both save the business and his father from spiralling out of control.
Rohan & Nilesh announce holiday-themed action comedyÂ
Filmmakers Rohan Sippy and Nilesh Sahay have joined hands for the holiday-themed action comedy entertainer christened Iss Diwali. The film unfolds during the Diwali festival against a backdrop of political intrigue. It is presented by industry veterans Ramesh Sippy and Zaheeda, reports variety.com. Rohan is known for helming Nautanki Saala, Dum Maaro Dum and Bluffmaster. He will collaborate with Nilesh, who wrote, produced and directed the action film Squad. Other details about the film are still kept in wraps. Casting for Iss Diwali is currently underway, with announcements expected in the coming months. The film is scheduled to hit theaters during the 2025 festival season.

Christopher Nolan setting up his next with Matt Damon, again
Filmmaker Christopher Nolan is setting up his new feature project after the resounding success of his last directorial Oppenheimer. For the latest project, which will release in US theatres on July 17, 2026, Christopher is once again teaming up with Hollywood studio Universal as well as actor Matt Damon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Matt, who featured in Christopher’s 2014 movie Interstellar and Oppenheimer (2023), is in negotiations to feature in the new movie. Last year, Christopher’s Oppenheimer, a gripping portrayal of J Robert Oppenheimer’s role in the development of the atomic bomb, emerged as a major contender at the Oscars, securing several nominations and taking home eight awards.

Kyle to team up with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon for movie RIP
Hollywood star Kyle Chandler will feature alongside Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in their latest collaboration RIP. The Netflix crime thriller movie will be directed by Joe Carnahan, best known for films such as Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team and The Grey. Besides Ben, Matt and Kyle, RIP will also star Sasha Calle of The Flash fame, Shogun actor Nestor Carbonell, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Teyana Taylor, according to entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter. Set against the backdrop of an investigation into the murder of a fellow officer, the crime thriller follows a team of Miami cops discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house. Ben and Matt will also produce the movie through artist-led studio Artists Equity, alongside Luciana Damon and Dani Bernfeld.Â
